Title Pachinko
how you got to watch it it's not loading from this application
I've been waiting years to watch this, it was the first book i read in our book club. Read it while my son was with the USMC in Korea. totally got me invested eventually into KDrama. Finally, it's on Amazon in the USA. Don't let the apple+ membership stop you though, i think it's a misprint. i just turned it on and it's available at the regular Amazon level!!! OORAH! and the book was amazing. on the genre of a michener book with great characters and family/cultural resilience.

currently watching this in the series form, and loving these two cuties. gav and cairo show so much emotion and love even though they are obviously very young. i know this show came out in 2022, which means it may have been produced far before that. during the COVID period, people were going apesh**t crazy about measuring 6' distancing, wearing face diapers, installing plexiglass EVERYWHERE, and basically believing all the BS that our government was hoaxing on us. here in the US we had dr fauci putting us on lockdowns which caused our society to spiral in so many ways. closing churches, small stores, gyms, but leaving walmarts open. WTF. i'll never forgive those asshats who did this to my children and community. that being said, it looks like in the phillippines, where gameboys was filmed...things might have been even worse. even the actors had to pretend to follow some bizarre rules and wear face diapers that didn't even block simple viruses, let alone the WU. my heart and dittoes go out to the cast of this exceptional show, and especially our adorable heroes, gav and cairo. bravo! <3

@Adriana Andreea Pita, wow! you are a true friend! i haven't watched this show yet. i'm in the US and i think it's only available on "Daily Motion", which isn't the best platform. but as a fellow musician/music lover, i always appreciate insight into the OST and music of the shows i watch. in the case of "Hymn of Death", music is the raison d'etre of the entire show. as the story (embellished as it is) of Yun Sim-Deok, the famous ROK soprano who left this world in 1926 during japanese occupation. such a sad story on so many levels. i'll bring the tissues when i watch it.

You're absolutely right!!! I'm in love with the OSTCan you please tell me the name or source of the OST??? I'm…
@Wondering Soul, You Tube in the US has some of the individual songs. I haven't seen a complete compilation on YT though. If you look at the info on the show Miseinen though, you'll see it only just completed its live run "on air" 7 Jan 2025 I'm not a professional, but i would think it may take a while for all the You-Tubers and online peeps to produce decent content on all the songs. Great shows like Kinn Porsche with amazing music OST and others, always have multiple YT links, but i think that content takes more than a couple of weeks to produce. We just need to be patient.

I've been enjoying this drama so much. I especially appreciate the lack of stupid and cliche "misunderstandings" in Shi Yi and Zeng Cheng's relationship. So refreshing to see this is a romance drama. Many thanks to the posters who have given us insight to the plot of "One and Only" (the prequel to this show, "Forever and Ever"). I decided to NOT watch One and Only BC i just don't want to see such sad events happen to our ML who is such dear soul. Forever and Ever (FAE) has such great feels, especially since we know their souls are entwined and their love is more than skin deep. I do have a cultural question for those of you in the know about life in China. In EP 11 at 22:06 the scene at the car shows Shi Yi's "household register" which Zhen Cheng (ML) is holding. It almost looks like a passport. Apparently FL needs this register to legally complete their marriage process. ML had asked in the same EP if her family had this register or if FL had her own personal register. Shi Yi explained she got her own register when she bought her apartment. Can someone please explain this register to me? If the leads are of age, isn't that good enough in China to legally get married? Is each person tied forever to their parents unless they get their own residence? Thanks for any clarity you can give to us folks who aren't in the loop about the system dynamics.

This was just suggested on my Netflix feed tonight. OMG! I am going to have to watch this just for Rain! He had impressed me so much when he was ML in Red Swan. Smooth, unflappable, and says so much without even speaking.

Wow MDL. So FUBAR. Referencing the UN, ICJ, and ICC as even remotely unbiased diplomatic organizations is so ignorant. Those groups are blatantly antisemetic and against Israel’s right to self defense it’s not even debatable. The UN is a money grubbing waste of prime NYC acreage if there ever was one. MDL you should be ashamed for publishing this article since it’s obviously trash. If it had been identified as an editorial that might have passed the sniff test. I hope the series creators don’t cave in to the fauda.

@Constructivism, thanks for your thoughtful insight on this show, Blood Free. Before reading and investigating, i was worried it would be a "Soilent Green" type scenario. This series just looks more psych and sci fi than creepy (thankfully). BTW, i really like your name. Had to check it out, but yeah...as an old homeschooling parent, i agree with many of the premises of Constructivism. We do not learn in a vacuum. Learning is cumulative, bouncing ideas on other humans is wonderful. Education should be and is experiential, that's why we start the informal learning process in the womb. One of my mentors told me a sage piece of advice: Boys (and most children) should not enter formal learning until they're 9 years old".

Dittoes and attaoys to all the different K-Drama and entertainment groups downsizing or postponing their events this week for a period of mourning. For a country the size of ROK, this is a major event that touches thousands. To respect the memory of the dead and their families is a class act. May they rest in peace. May their memory be for a blessing alev ha shalom.

Watched it on HITV if you’re still interested. Very dark and grainy though. I might have to rewatch to pick up the details I couldn’t understand the first time.
