It really feels like an alternate universe that Kiew came back to after he almost went back home. Everyone has changed personalities and nothing makes sense. Like people here have noticed, they either switched the writers and the plot took a deep dive, or it better be the alternate universe š¤¦āāļø And donāt get me started on the whole āmax level treatmentā of amnesia - thanks for ruining both Plawan and Kiew for me, writers š”
This is a cultural thing....My understanding is tootsie is a femme gay man who may or may not cross dress. But…
Thank you :) Yes, I have watched Diary of Tootsies and I loved the series! Itās just in Thai series I watched, men who liked being called āsisā were cross dressing - if not completely, then partially, having some elements of womanās attire on them. So Iām just trying to understand Chotās character better. So far, I like him - heās really nice, trying to give Pat good advice. He looks like a good friend to have š»
I really liked both leads in their formal suits! Maybe, except for huge bow ties - it could be a fashion though, I am definitely not an expert š¤·āāļø
Iām a bit confused about Chot - he said heās a ātootsā while Pat is āgayā since Chot is more femme while Pat is not. Then, Pat starts addressing Chot as āsisā.
But, femme gay man is still a man, right? Chot doesnāt present himself as a ākatoyā who dress like girls (at least in Thai BLs). He looks to me just like an effeminate gay man. Why call him āsisā? Sorry, I have only seen ākatoysā in Thai series, so Iām just trying to understand better.
What the heck is going on with the subtitles that everyone gets a new name every single damn time?!
Yeah, I still donāt know what the guyās name is really - Piccolo/Picci/Pizza? š¤¦āāļø The way they say it, itās closer to āPeteā, so I just listen to them in this case š
Do I understand correctly that the manager is supposed to train a young actor she took in?
If so, why didnāt she hire a speech teacher for Wayha right away? It looks like heās been going for auditions for quite some time now, failing them. No wonder, if he canāt pronounce words properly. What was she thinking? Isnāt she losing money like that? Heās good looking, determined, why not just quickly correct a slight imperfection? Just weird way to do business from my point of view, thatās all š¤·āāļø
Wow, another āmother of the yearā lets her āmanā rape her child š¤¦āāļø Do we really have to have this in a romcom? I know it happens in real life, too, but I could never wrap my brain around it. There are so many ways to stop the āmanā immediately - from a knife to his dick to some bleach in his beer. Thatās if we donāt go the ālaw enforcementā way. Iām sure there are more subtle ways as well so that she could collect his life insurance on top of being free from him. If Thoop was a kid at the time, even if he did something to the bastard he would be underage to go to jail, so thereās that, too. Of course, I donāt know Thailand laws so I might be wrong.
This plot just rubbed me the wrong way, as I am a mother and I would tear the fucker apart before cops could come.
Agreed. She seemed lovely enough & maybe her advice was meant to be from a good place but clearly she doesn't…
For sure! Tane is the star! š»
And, by the way, I really appreciated the direction and the actress in that scene. Like you noticed, with very short screen time and very few mumbled words she accomplished to show a character and to make an impression. Thatās awesome! A round of applause from me to her and the director! šš»š
Agreed. She seemed lovely enough & maybe her advice was meant to be from a good place but clearly she doesn't…
Oh, I am not attacking her for her reaction to Tane spilling stuff on her. If anything - she didnāt react much to it. Basically, she didnāt acknowledge the boy at all throughout her being on screen - at least, my impression was that she deliberately tried to ignore him as much as she could. That demeanor towards the boy and her words that Minoru has to live his own life clearly showed to me her intention to extract him from his situation. The thing is - his situation is his family and his life. Also, she made it about her: āYou are important to MEā, āI will be waiting for you on campusā - ok, wait to you heartās content š
I would be more lenient towards her if she showed more interest in Minoruās family (Tane), his wants and needs. Then offered her help or even just friendly ear to chat if he wants to. But she didnāt care at all about what Minoru wants or needs. Thatās why I donāt like her, although I am not really crucifying her (yet) š Thatās just my opinion of the character and the given situation, I really like the series and I hope weāll enjoy it to the end! šš„

She didnāt seem lovely to me as she wants Minoru for herself, not for him to ālive his lifeā, which heās already living. Sheās trying to extract him from his family without offering any help or solution. So heās supposed to cut ties with his dad and little bro just to ālive his lifeā with her, the way she sees fit. So, basically, she wants him to ālive her lifeā, and thatās just selfish and immature. I hope she doesnāt show up anymore.
So the girl couldn't be honest with the boss? Like speak TF up, tell him you are not interested. Out of the whole…
I think she was really trying to find out if Souta really had a girlfriend, and if she could get him to like her while āsavingā her. The boss really didnāt do anything wrong to her. Worst case - she could have mentioned she has a boyfriend in a casual conversation. Her boyfriend shouldnāt necessarily work with her, just āexistā somewhere. I seriously donāt like her character. She could have easily navigate the situation on her own if she wanted to. But she chose to come to his house on a holiday to ask for something like that š I seriously thought the boss was handsy and disgusting, but, girl, please! š¤¦āāļø
My theory is that Tai has the same condition as his father and it looks like he understands better than others…
Yep. Mom seems like a workaholic with business approach for her family as well, while daddy comes off as a pleasant, laidback dude. Again, just first impressions, and I hope they make the parents more than two-dimensional cartoonish characters. It would be interesting to see the tables turned.
My theory is that Tai has the same condition as his father and it looks like he understands better than others…
You might be right, but just hearing about his parents divorce on his birthday out of nowhere was traumatic enough for Tai. He certainly knew about the condition in general and what it implies since heād been exposed to it all his life through his parents. With his character being on a warmer, more empathetic side (heās a writer so he can easily imagine what people feel), heās siding with his father as his mom looks and feels tougher. Of course, he doesnāt know all the facts (neither do we yet), so itās quite possible his dad was at fault, but based on his parents behavior, he feels closer to his father, I think. Also, now, having the condition himself, heās having stronger reaction.
I also hope theyāll release OST on Spotify š»

Other than that, letās see what happens šæ
Iāve lived in the USA now for about 25 years, though š
