Propaganda is ugly, and undisguised propaganda is the ugliest. If it doesn't make sense or is just sort of flopped into the story line to serve the interest of a government, the show is worthless.

Your point is excellent.

Naked, bald propaganda is really distasteful, but this drama's producers (as well as other producers) no doubt have to make big concessions to the culture committee just to get their shows on the air so they can get their money back.

Also, at least the propaganda is directed at being unselfish and working for the benefit of other people beside yourself. In the States where I live, our shows are produced without propaganda as we have no censorship committees that have to approve, but our shows promote a free wheeling, greed is good, everyone for themself overview which is not doing any of us any good, either.

One of the best things about your editorial (and others like it, of course) are how they help to get us all thinking about how we each define "strong" when we're talking about women characters. There are so many useful points of view in these comments!

That is strongest female lead role (only first half). Bloody romance as well but somehow end killed it for me.…
Gosh. I don't know what you think you're accomplishing with comments like these, but they're not saying good things about you. In a world like the one we're all living in right now, why add to the awfulness by being so mean?

The great thing about Jdramas of the marriage/romance genre is you can usually count on some mild kink, and this show is no different. It's weird and also a little wonderful.

It is not illegal to "do that in TV shows". What in the world are you talking about? Perfectly understandable…
I have no knowledge of law in Canada, but if you're talking about the US, your understanding of the First Amendment to the US Constitution is wrong. The First Amendment does not prohibit or make illegal religious content or advocacy on American television.

Called the "Establishment Clause", the First Amendment restricts the preference of one religion over another in government. (Although the "airwaves" in the US are considered a public good and so regulated by the FCC, no TV content provider is forbidden or restricted from broadcasting anything related to religion.)

Perfectly understandable that this show isn't to your taste, but you know you can just go watch something else, right?

Knetz (and others) absolutely drove a huge amount of hate her way. This is a social ill that S. Korea, with all of its policing about online defamation, hasn't been effective in doing anything about.

However, I think your comment is not good, and represents the same kind of awful that you're commenting about. Just my observation.

Short version. This musician played guqin for "Spring Fading into White Pear Blossoms" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8-aAKi7azE
Thank you for that.

I had days to mule it over. and I must say. I HATE the ending.
I didn't hate it, but elements of it were not necessary and didn't contribute to the drama.

Why would I want to know the ending when I can just watch it myself?
oh, yeah, that was the drama that did it for me, also. Unless I know I'm absolutely watching a romcom, there are no historical, fantasy or costumer dramas I watch without knowing what type of ending it has.

I was furious about "Rise of Phoenix" ending for days.

I know better than to have any expectations or hopes for shows nowadays, but I'm looking forward to this one because of the cast. These are all seasoned, skilled actors, so I really, really hope the script lives up to their talent.

Title Hierarchy
It's disappointing. (More disappointing is how long I watched for this in the "Worth the Wait" section at Netflix. Months. At least 6. I know better than to get my hopes up, but still. ) This could have been such a sexy, edgy, tight drama but instead, it's . . . flat. The mistake this drama makes: it takes its young, talented cast, dresses them prettily, and then shoves them into a plot that never rises much above a monotone.
