To be honest, the villain was pure evil and actually terrifying! For a pretty slow flick, this had good pacing and didn't waste any minutes on fluff... but, although it was a very good film, it wasn't something I'd recommend unless someone was looking for films of this genre.
EDIT: I know on this website everyone seems to unrealistically rate something they enjoyed a 10, but for me, that number is reserved for my absolute favourites! I do: 1) God-awful 2 - 4) various levels of bad 5) middle of the road 6) nothing special but okay 7) now we're enjoyable! 8) damn good 9) Holy sheeeet! I'm telling all my friends about this one!
So a 7.5 is a solid score - even if others on this site would look at it as my 5.
I really enjoy intelligent thrillers - especially when they scoff at the folly of modern life - so I'll try to find out... it's just a shame that this film, Following, wasn't too great (as I reviewed above for a 6/10 rating).
I'll have to watch this again because I saw it years ago and was thoroughly unimpressed (I gave it a 5). However, reading the original Crows comic (note: Crow's Zero is the sequel, and I've not yet started that), I laughed all the way through and enjoyed it a great deal.
Was this another case of a poorly done adaption, were my expectations different to what was delivered or was I simply not really in the mood? I'll report back once I get around to giving this another go.
if you don't like Kdramas why do you still watch them ? Maybe you just haven't found the right genre to watch,…
My Name was brilliant! I also really liked, Vigilante and I'm still disappointed that, Vagabond, didn't get its 2nd series.
That said, I'm picky of TV series regardless of country of origin and/or genre - there really haven't been too many that have been able to hold my interest for an entire series - let alone several series!
Things that turn me off of a programme:
- Boring. - A dull concept with no interesting characters (NOTE: a dull concept with characters we want to watch, is 100% viable). - Bloated for the sake of more episodes/padded to reach the running time. - Pretentiousness (i.e. "all style, no substance"). - Sub-plots nobody cares about. - A bloated cast seemingly just... for reasons. - Plot armour (characters can't die because of the story). - Plot holes (they just scream oh how the team behind the "show" don't respect our intelligence and think we'll just let stupid shit fly). - Dull character interactions. - A badly done genre (so, like, crap and/or lack of action in a supposed action production/romance that isn't romantic, etc.). - Wokeness mind-programming disease.
EDIT: - Characters doing stupid things - and not because they've been duped! - Immoral main characters (obviously a certain degree of exception is awarded to anti-hero type leads).
It's really good... until its overly savage, spiteful, black-hearted ending that almost made me turn it off. To make matters worse: the ending is both predicable and nothing new! What a tremendously shitty way to ruin what should have been a pretty great film.
5/10.
P.S. No, I don't always want a happy ending, but that was unnecessary and kind of traumatising.
when I saw Manouna review decide not to watch this too much violent cruelty and brutality in world as it is
I like action - when we know it's all fake - but I've always hated on-screen violence that tries to be real. If the film features this, I'm glad I saw your comment, so I'll skip it.
Saw it today in Lotte Cinema. The perfect last film and ending to the amazing trilogy. If the previous two film's…
I had to look up, Minas Tirith Battle, because I had no idea what you were on about.
Since I never cared for LotR (the first film bored the crap out of me, so I skipped the others, watched ,The Hobbit, with a mate and kind of hated it), your references really lost me... and there I was thinking you were on about real life historical events.
I enjoyed it for what it was, but the fact that the first film is one of the greatest achievements of Korean film-making, meant that this - like the sequel before it - was always going to fall short.
There were a couple of bits that weren't entirely logical (like ordering the punishment of some dude for lying, when the next sentence from the leader's mouth tells us he believed him), and the motivation for not allowing a peaceful retreat never really came across as believable, but the sets are amazing, the costumes realistic, the acting never forced and the battle - when it arrives after a very enjoyable hour of what many may be bored by as "talk" - was EPIC.
A very respectable 7/10, albeit, because it's a sequel to The Admiral, it feels a tad disappointing despite all its qualities.
Two things about this film:1) the lead is BEAUTIFUL. The picture above does no justice to how she appears in this…
Hmm, so against my better judgement, I watched the end... and it remained as insipid. This wasn't a horrible film, but it was incredibly uninspiring with dull set-pieces and a lame ending.
1) the lead is BEAUTIFUL. The picture above does no justice to how she appears in this - every shot she has pristine hair, make-up and a body to kill for! If I was a fan-boy, I'd say she's now my "waifu". Luckily, I admired her as a work of art and don't obsess.
2) the film is BORING. It starts out nicely - very stylish - and where I don't mind a slower pace if the story's worth it, this one isn't. Throw in some pretty trashy action sequences and it's difficult to hold the attention. I paused this around the hour mark to do something... and then couldn't find the motivation to sit through the next 20 minutes (it's over 2 hours). Perhaps I'll watch the end tomorrow... but maybe not? It's uninspiring and I have better things to do.
Well, "Claire", maybe she's been asked those basic questions SOOOO MANY TIMES that the interviewers went for something…
You're asking me if I've "ever heard of journalism?", yet you clearly missed the tone of the interview... which very likely catered for its readers.
I think you're trying to have a pissing competition for no reason - the interviewer went in with an angle of attack, believing that such was what the majority of readers would want to know.
There's no pleasing everybody; I just hope that the interviewer was satisfied with her results... I know that it made an interesting read for many.

Let me know if it's any good.
That said, Jeju Island is a famous holiday spot for Koreans and probably a paradisical-like break from the inner-city daily grind.
To make matters worse: the ending is both predicable and nothing new!

That's pretty rare on this site (just as rating sensibly in general is).
