"I honestly wonder what kind of audience watches these dramas" - I can explain why I watched it. I watch non-Western content in general because I want something different and I want to learn about other cultures. Go Go Squid is so absurd that I became genuinely curious: what other stupidity are they going to come up with? This is why I continued to watch it in spite of second hand embarrassment for the writers.
"He obviously acts better when he’s speaking Korean than Thai" - wasn't that the point? If you are in a place where people around you speak a language you barely know, you feel lost and helpless. This is what Peace was. I think it was quite realistic.
"The mystery involving June" - that is a minus for you? For me, that was the strongest part of the story. We will never know, perhaps she was Tang, after all? It gives you room for speculation, which is something I appreciate. Interesting, how a plus for one person can be a minus for another.
Wow this is an interesting interpretation but as someone who read the original novel and read the interviews about…
I don't feel attacked. I based my interpretation on the series ONLY and I am aware that the book is very different. I haven't read it, so it didn't affect my understanding of the show. Sad to hear that there were some problems with the translation. I wonder if I would've enjoyed the show equally if the translation had been closer to the show creator's intention. ;P
I've tried to submit a request to remove the "thriller" tag because it's misleading, and to add the "comedy"…
As above. Crimes are being committed, but those crimes aren't there to build suspense. They are there to show that the ML is immoral - and give him a chance to improve (which he does).
"Thriller is a genre of fiction with numerous, often overlapping, subgenres, including crime, horror, and…
It's not. There is also fear, suspense, anxiety. None of that in this show. Even though there are criminals, they commit actual crimes, the show on the whole is light-hearted and the emotional dilemmas are superficial. You know there's gonna be a happy end at all times.
Yes it plays a crucial part for the story , but trust me it won't be abarrier to like the show
Perhaps this is a good opportunity to get over that fear? If you associate snakes with something fun (watching a soapie), then you might feel less anxious.
