Yeah luckily I don't need subs but TBW is ending soon and I just finished Lady in Butcher's House so I have time to start this.

You can just assume period dramas are over dubbed bc the sets are noisy with multiple dramas shot in the same location. And the Chinese govt has this thing about "standard Mandarin" but many actors speak with heavy traces of local dialects. I wish more of the actors would dub themselves. Dilraba actually has a terrific voice and her line delivery is really good - she could/should dub herself but she is an A-lister it probably just takes too much time. And the voice actor who does her voice work has a very similar voice to hers. Ren Jialun on the other hand struggles with line delivery, his voice is very low and he tends to sigh heavily. But his fans still want to see him continue to try to improve on his trade craft and do more of his own voice work. The more serious actors and movie actors tend to do their own voice work. I hear Yang Zi always insists on dubbing herself but I haven't watched her dramas so idk for sure.

OMG was he her first love??? I thought I picked up on some heavy vibes between them too but I thought... nah, he is not the ML. The actor is hot - its too bad what happened... geez.

They are both dubbed and I believe both of them are using their regular voice dubbers.

I can't help but wonder - is she still Yunhe though? We were discussing that below as well but it seems Yunhe died along with her immortal fairy core. Dilraba herself posted a RIP to Yunhe...

I think her character in Part 1 was a lot more complex and difficult to portray and she did indeed nail it. Aji in Part 2 is a simpler, more innocent character but I can still see traces of Yun He but hopefully she won't be forced into such difficult choices again.

They are all beautiful people, however you mix and match its gonna come out well...

I suspect there is more to her outrageous behavior that may be linked to her past and her mother's demise. I became suspicious when it was revealed that she is besties with Shijin and the old case that they all seem to be linked by.

The editing is a bit choppy, messes up the transitions.

That conversation was sad - CY pretty much said let Yun He die bc as Aji she is a much happier and freer that Yun He ever was. I felt it was the moment he finally understood her. He also deduced that her shifu must be LHQ.

Ren Jialun looks fabulous in period dramas and I think Chang Yi has been his best styling so far as well…

I didn’t read the novel but I can tell that the story is good. I don’t love the storytelling and how it spends so much time on side characters bc that is probably why I didn’t feel the leads. I don’t think it was ever bad bc they are both good actors but just not the level I was expecting until last nights episodes. I don’t think I have seen Ren Jialun spark super hot with anyone though so not sure this will meet that bar. I think the absence of very passionate kiss scenes make that kind of hard to achieve…

I didn't watch YAMG and no offence but I don't remember you at all.
I do like Dilraba - I don't watch dramas with actors I don't like.
You need to stop cyber bullying anyone and everyone that has an opinion you don't like. It is clear you need help. Please get it.
