I liked Song Yi’s character as well. I actually don’t like any of the other female characters in JOL. It is really a male centric drama. I think the women in SSS are a lot better written but I still don’t like Si Lili/Qingfeng actress and her styling here is so old and matronly she looks same age as her mom.

I like Li Qin a lot but her character in JOL is just not that well written or as interesting as Jiang Ni.

It’s a pity we didn’t get to see him play chess with Xu Xiao. The wife though is as dumb as rocks and cold and arrogant as well. She got off too easy.

Xiao Wu by a long shot, Liu Ran is adorable compared to that energizer bunny from hell!

Jiang Ni’s pout is unfortunate but the character is superbly well written, I can’t think of a better one outside of maybe Fang Zhiwei. I think ZRY takes a lot of male centric romance light roles for a reason I don’t expect to see heavy chemistry between him and any co-star…

That FL was super annoying and stupid. I only lasted 5 episodes bc @sony_t was watching it with me but after 5 episodes I had to stop bc I would have needed a lobotomy to continue. Jiang Ni here is a goddess genius by comparison and she doesn't make a lot of noise or act cutesy either.

Idk why I keep thinking Wang Juan wrote MHH (this is the 2nd or 3erd time I am doing this) AND I keep thinking DLDL was NOT written by him. I think maybe it is bc I actually liked the first half of MHH but I found DLDL completely unwatchable. That FL was... 🤮🤮🤮 I still can't believe he wrote such a dumb character.

Couldn't agree more. Her pout does annoy me once in a blue moon but I love their interaction its so fresh for a drama couple.

Yeah Wang Juan the scriptwriter may be the bigger bottleneck. So far he also has Douluo 2, Young Blood S2 and My Heroic Husband S2 scripts to finish. I believe JOL 2 and 3 are done.

SSS is in my top 3 for 2021 irrespective of genre with Word of Honor and Minning Town. If it ends well SSS will be No 1 for me but it has to end really well to topple WOH. Louyang is pretty good, especially the 1H and it is in my Top 10 for the year but there were quite a few dramas I liked a lot better. I don't think it was as good as Imperial Coroner which is same ancient mystery genre.

They can skip a few volumes and wrap it up in 3 seasons. I randomly read some of the synopsis I don’t think they are all equally interesting.

Chen Xingxu is a good actor but he is very young. Hopefully ZRY completes at least 2 seasons so maybe he should be replaced with an older actor for the later years? But I didn't read the book idk how old is Xu Fengnian at the end of the novel?

Yeah I have 21 days of quarantine coming up end Feb/March. will probably do it then.
