Yeah too many touchy feely scenes for me as well. I don't look like to see too much of that in this kind of show.

History is written by the winners. If they succeed they are indeed patriots, heroes and freedom fighters. If they fail they are rebels and terrorists.

I think the point they are making is to try to make us understand why the royal family finds him to be such a threat. I can't blame them frankly and his butcher reputation does not help.

Yeah may be best to try to watch them at one go. What is really annoying about 1 episode a night is we keep getting cliff-hanged.

Yeah JOL IMHO was tough in the beginning and also dragged towards the end - I didn't enjoy the giant/mother's backstory I thought it was way too long winded. Young Blood also got draggy at parts so this writer has this tendency that I hope won't show up here.

I am a bit nervous about jinxing it but this for me is also way better than JOL which I dropped after 5 episodes on my first watch whereas this one I loved even from the first episode that not many liked. Fengnian and Old Huang reminded me of Don Quixote and I found that donkey of a horse just hilarious. I have to say though that JOL MAY have better villains.

In the case Prince Zhao is dead he is most likely the past Crown Prince OR Master Chu’s brother. Master Chu seems to be all alone in the world.

Why not? So far all we know is Prince Zhao was once best buddies with Dalang and WYJ and something happened to him 7 years ago. That could have been his father passed away or he was promoted and got a new title. It also
could have been something bad like he died in which case he is definitely not Master Chu. No one said his identity is a secret in the story but we the viewer don’t have the facts that the characters probably already do. It is obvious for example erlang knows who prince Zhao is or was.

Well Dalang faked his death and WYJ obviously must have helped him do so. But I am talking about Prince Zhao and of course everyone in the Luoyang universe must know what happened to Prince Zhao 7 years ago but we the viewers don’t know what that is or who he is. He may not have been killed he may just have been exiled or may have been conferred a new title Prince Dong Chuan when he was given control of Lianfang. It was a cryptic end to that conversation.

Yeah there are no real good candidates for Prince
Zhao age wise only Master Chu fits. And WYJ was in the middle of saying something happened to Prince Zhao 7 years ago, basically 3 years after Dalang “died”. That made me think it was a deposed Crown Prince or Prince.

It was already mentioned in Ep 32 that Dalang, WYJ and a Prince Zhao were best friends when they studied at the academy. The only unknown is who Prince Zhao is. Could he be Lord Freedom? Or was he Master Chu's father or Master Chu himself?

Lol my mom finished the first two already... We are watching SSS and Luoyang together.

I only watched a bit of the first episode. My folks are visiting my mom needs subs so I can only watch subbed stuff with them.

I don't think the emperor will throw Master Chu under the bus that easily. She is just testing the Wu cousins.
