Oh I find him hilarious and adorable - he is so engaging he puts the idol candidate villain to shame. As someone who also loves Western drama I much prefer actors with interesting faces and nuanced performances over idols and it is nice to see Chinese audiences coming to appreciate this more. I just dropped something else to watch this because I couldn't stand to see the idol actor's wide-eyed simpering anymore it just took me out of the drama.

Hihi - Yeah.... finally found something I want to watch! You are right it has a JOL feel but it is different. I dropped JOL after 5 episodes, the humor did not at all work for me.
