Seems to me Qin Cang may really QinZheng’s son with Zhou Xiankun. They fell in love when he was escorting her…
Just my best guess for now.😅

"the abyss also gazes into you"
One of my favorite Nitzsche quotes, inspiring many works in this genre. Another good review!👍👍👍

I actually like his character and find him entertaining. I’m looking forward to seeing more of his scenes and,…
He should be the younger brother of Han Mingyue who hasn’t appeared on screen yet. Han Mingyue is the boss of Red Fox, the green eyed assassin that Prince Ding’s men just captured. They were loyal to the crown prince and are thus now working for Prince Li’s faction.

Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
I doubt he is really Muyang’s son. I suspect he is consort Qin’s son with Zhou Xiankun, 3rd uncles’s late…
Yes and that is also why she is focused on celestial calculations - Consort Qin in highly superstitious. She will probably also use Muyang’s sons jealousy to make her feel he is a threat to her son.

Pro tip: real high IQ is immediately obvious and does not need to try so hard to announce itself. Thanks for the laugh!!!

So basically Muyang’s son is feeling inferior to Captain Qin . He is clearly taking out all his inadequacies…
I doubt he is really Muyang’s son. I suspect he is consort Qin’s son with Zhou Xiankun, 3rd uncles’s late master.

Hmmmmmmk Qin Cang character is hard to read. He seems to despise his father and half brother (especially + jealousy)…
Seems to me Qin Cang may really QinZheng’s son with Zhou Xiankun. They fell in love when he was escorting her from her home town to be married to the emperor. Zhou Xiankun may have been loosely related to Zhou Jing which is why Consort Qin stashed him there and made the marquis ensure he has a future. And kept the edict to ensure her secret/son is safe with Marquis Muyang. Obviously cuckolding the late emperor is high treason the kind that gets you killed. The edict is her insurance policy.

Doctor: She needs more companyMXY: More company? Say less. Hehe Ye Li helped MXY and now its his turn. I appreciate…
He is so dense. Since she is deeply lonely, he should just move in to her rooms with her. Problem solved.

I wouldn’t t call this a romance because the romance doesn’t drive the plot. To me it seems like it is a revenge…
Sure but none of these romantic actions move the plot forward and neither lead’s actions are motivated primarily by romance so I don’t consider this to be a romance drama. Which is good - I usually don’t like romance driven dramas like POJ where both MLs agendas are primarily driven by romance.

Dong Jie really makes a convincing outwardly virtuous but very power hungry empress. Hopefully her end would be…
The role that made her famous was in Butterfly Lovers which was a classic tragedy. She led many dramas after that but has now aged out into support roles . She kind of reenacted some of those famous scenes in Legend of Shen Li where she played the widow haunted by her husbands ghost.

i've seen a lot of comments here and on reddit about how 'this is not a romance drama'. and i'm genuinely wondering,…
I wouldn’t t call this a romance because the romance doesn’t drive the plot. To me it seems like it is a revenge drama with quite a bit of romance.

Does anyone know if Lin Mu Ran’s character is significant in the story? We know so far that ye li saved him…
He is from the Han family who were supporters of the late Crown Prince. They are helping Prince Li with his schemes now. That is why Prince Li let him go when they saw his tattoo after intending to torture him. He has quarreled with his brother Mingyue and Red Fox, the green eyed assassin Prince Ding is hunting. Ye Li did something to save him - he was asleep at the back of her cart with his hat over his face when she was leaving Lishan for the capital.

I think it is possible that Ye Li's grandfather headmaster Xu had drafted the edict on behalf of the then dying…
Maybe as you said she is related to the Huas.
