TRP is Zhang Ziyi's vanity project - she paid for and acted in this super long drama staring herself. It starts out really well and then it crashes halfway. The FL is a suffocating dislikable Mary Sue. The ML is great but he gets very little screen time bc its all about her. I am sorry to rain on everyone's parade and of course this is just my opinion but it is one of those super long dramas that I don't ever recommend to people. If you do try it, drop it once it starts to go downhill and don't look back bc it never gets better. ZZY was one of my favorite actors before I watched her dreadful narcissistic performance in this. Now I never want to watch her again and she has a fantastic movie coming soon that I am trying to convince myself to watch.

LJX is a morally reprehensible character and as far as the FL is concerned LSY is her bro. She didn't choose LSY romantically over LJX; she just realized that LJX is a bad guy. With or without LSY, she will never give him the time of the day again.

I think it is fair for people to say it wasn't what it initially promised to be but its still a decent watch. I still think its the best of the currently airing.

I actually am fine with both Yue Qin and Zigu. I think they will end up doing the right thing and help the main CP when the rubber meets the road. In their shoes, they need allies anywhere they can find them. And while Yue Qin's affection is misplaced, until she is married, the FL is fair game. I like to see a worthy rival for the girl and not just some simple farm boy. May the best man win. The real issue at this point is the Jinghe has been less than honest with her on one big thing and (drum roll) he actually freaking poisoned her!!! I am still in his camp but I am A-ok with him sweating it out a little bit over the fact that the FL actually has a real choice. And it raises the stakes for him to make her his queen bc that is also what Yue Qin is prepared to offer.
