That’s smart - I gave up in disgust mid way ep 36 and called it a night. Yanle is country that became extinct bc it’s a race to the bottom in how few brain cells everyone has. I took note of this screenwriter to put on my NO list only to see they also worked on The Rise of Ning. Learned my lesson will only give that 2 episodes if it has retarded logic like this I will bail.

I think a big part of the problem is good screenwriters rarely get paid well. Most of them are as cheap as chips failed writers that rehash stereotypes perpetuated by old, misogynist directors and to muddy the waters further, many lead actors nowadays demand a say in how their character is written. Its changing at the margin and there are increasingly good dramas coming out these days but they are more the exception than the norm. I couldn't watch Love's Rebellion bc I am allergic to Jing Tian after WOL so idk what happened there but I heard it wasn't a good drama.

Yeah I am losing patience with the costume dramas. On the one hand they are my favorites but on the other, the scripts get worse every year. They do pander mostly to female audiences bc most c-drama watchers are women. What offends me is they think we are all so shallow, petty and mean bc that is what they think works for us. And I am like no, nope, DROPPED.
