Well instead of sending YM off to the west, they sent all the western envoys east (Go East) to Changle which is really Changan. The book is pretty good but I am super busy so I don't have time to keep reading.

Yes I liked JOL2 as well but many people didn't and it definitely wasn't better than S1.

The protagonist is 玄奘 and Ashu is a small boy he adopted. He solves diplomatic cases related to the western kings fighting over the silk road on his journey to the west to collect the Buddhist scriptures. I only read up to the first case its totally different.

Thank you. I also did laugh at ZWY's jokes and he did get less stiff later on. I think nowadays productions almost self censor or tone down dark characters to avoid censorship. Its a sad development.

Especially the costume dramas. They have all been forgettable. I think the only one I thought was really good is STOTD2. But there have been some good thrillers like Trilateral Slopes.

People are baffled that they took such a good novel and adapted it beyond recognition.

As long as she doesn't go back to Yanle, I think they no longer have control over her choices. That's why getting right of abode and asylum in Changle was so important to her.

Yes I agree, she just gave up on her revenge and actually her interest is more aligned with Ashu and YM against Yanle than with Mr White who is actually working for Yanle. But this thing has been going downhill for awhile now. The last episode was also mega dumb with the Yanle envoy daring to execute a Changle citizen in the Dayong capital!!!🤦🏻‍♀️ I was too busy with work to rant about it but I was like WTF??? This thing has so many holes if it were a ship it would sink.

I think YM is in a good position. Yanle and Dayong are competing to get an alliance with Mobei. If Yanle princess marries Mobei prince then Yanle "wins' the alliance and its against Yong's interest. So YM's Sifang Pavillion will keep Ashu in Dayong and will prefer she marries a Dayong citizen, solidifying the alliance between Dayong and Yanle.

Its kind of true that A Shu got her entire village killed. And now that A Shu's father is dead with no male heirs, her only useful purpose is to be married off to Prince Duomi in order to seal an alliance between Mobei and Yanle. That has to be why after so many years they now want her back.
