I am not at all. I think its a small thing. She was his enemy - he was lying to her to entrap her!!! All's fair in love and war!!! I think they both have big ass problems, as in enemies that want to kill them dead. Their misunderstandings can just be chalked down as a lover's spat. I will be hugely disappointed in them both if bc of this they don't combine their smarts and use it against their enemies instead of each other. If she tortures him for it I will be seriously bored. No worries. That is bc in the book, BDJ arrives only right after YDZ kills himself. The only people who were there when that happened was YWJ and LQY. BDJ gave them a potion to help YDZ fake his death. He was going to help them escape where they would never be seen again. But LQY suspected YDZ was dying already bc his qi was fading fast - he was exhausted from fighting everyone but probably could still have been saved. In any case, YDZ refused to fake his death. Instead, he took responsibility and stabbed himself in the heart before anyone could stop him. This happened just before BDJ could make it there. No one really saw what happened except the 3 of them bc I think they were inside the hut or on the other side of the hut. Something like that. So there was controversy even about how YDZ actually died. The drama changed the death scene a lot and made it very long. It was very quick in the book.

Those were chaotic times. If possible you marry a good man or woman and hope neither of you run into a stray bullet. Love is a luxury and could even be inconvenient. Both are good gals in their own way it’s just a matter of luck who ends with who. The dude may not even survive in which case it doesn’t matter…

Well there are a bunch of superb spy dramas out there with incredible acting by non idol actor casts. While I think ZSXi and CDL are doing fairly well, they are nowhere in the same league as actors like Wang Yang, Zhu Yilong, Zhang Ruoyun, Zhang Luyi etc etc that made highly praised spy dramas. The critical fail is ZSW and ZSX have zero chemistry - there is no cat and mouse tension between them. Finally the plot is lacking suspense - who is cell no 8 is not that big a hook and is quite obvious before the reveal. All the silly infighting between NBIS and CBIS is also boring and rehashes needless dialogue between Ou and ZZF. Finally the CPC should not be so under resourced and incompetent. This is set in 1941, the CPC won by 1945 and booted out the Japanese.
