Sadly these action scenes are indeed looking a lot like computer game play. The actors don't do much more than stand there and pose or do a quick twirl. I had hoped it would get better as we go along but so far it hasn't.

IQiyi held a conference a few months ago and put it in their 1H pipeline. It doesn’t mean it’s a firm air date it’s just their target but ultimately depends on a lot of stuff including censorship, post production/dubbing schedules and advertising.
I enjoyed the first two cases - even though they were a bit on the long side, they held my interest through out. I am glad to see Dugu Xiashu again although I worry slightly about his competence as a magistrate. Not to mention his weakness for women who attract way too much male attention.
