Yeah the voice acting here is not as annoying as it was in EB. I actually don't mind it either it just sounded familiar so I looked it up.

I think if you don't know the story, you can consider watching the 2017 version of LOCH until they get to Peach Blossom Island. And then pick up from the Eastern Heretic chapter of this version. The Hot Blooded chapter here just doesn't do justice to any of the three main characters, pretty much skipping all their development. I suggest 2017 bc of the recent remakes, it is the most faithful to the way the story was written by Jin Yong. And all 3 roles have good actors. Yang Xuwen should be the best Guo Jing so far, It is the best recent adaptation with an 8.0 on Douban. The 2008 version is at 7.7 and the 1983 is at 9.2 but it is probably too dated now for most people to enjoy. At the rate this one is going, I will be shocked if it breaks 7.0.

On the positive side, the whole Huazheng arc seems to have been cut out....

I didn’t watch that one but Yuan Hong is a good actor. The 1983 version also shows Yang Kang as a conflicted character; it is how he is written in the novel.

She was awesome. Meng Ziyi is gorgeous but her acting is hit or miss.

It should have still made good money. Usually they air when they sell 70 pct of their ad slots but I heard FSMM was more than that. They raise the price on the remaining slots if the show is hot. And some of the ads are performance ads so they depend on views. So all ok iQiyi should have made money on it but probably less than they expected. The issue is bc it flops the big advertisers may not want to back the next drama or may demand a discount on the pricing.

I am just watching for the action scenes at this point.

Ying Gu should be in the Southern Emperor chapter. She is the sad tragic lady Huang Rong has to solve a riddle to get past.

I think after FSMM flopped so hard they did some rearranging. I am sure they meant the next FSMM to go up against LYF2 but that looks like a BAD idea at this point.

No both Ci Sha and Bao Shengen are dubbed. But many of the actors should be using the own voices.
