I don’t think they ever announced what alternate order they would have gone with instead bc they must have realized it’s too hard. Many of these past stories unfolded simultaneously and are relevant to the present arcs as well. But if you know the story already it’s easy to watch them out of order. I guess you could try staring with Eastern Heretic, Nine Yin Sutra, Southern Beggar and then Hot Blooded and Duel on Mount Hua. But people who don’t know the story will be confused bc Guo Jing and Huang Rong will pop up in some of the later parts of the prequel as well.
