Well it is a lot more common to kill off characters in c-dramas so most actors "die" many times. So far he only died in 1 role no? I think he survived more often than not so far.

The bald monk's true alliance/motive is still unknown. So far all 3 protagonists have killed people from Tongmenghui. So they are not heroes they are actually villains.

The military is the Beiyang army under the command of Yuan Shikai (the fat fisherman). They are all just different arms of the Qing government so technically at this point in time all 3 main protagonists are on the same side, which is also the wrong side or the losing side. Only Lucky and his girl Friday are on the right side (Tongmenghui). The latest trailer suggests that Prince Qi is the main villain and ZBF is working for him.

Yeah that’s what makes me sad about the movies - they take so long to get released and I don”t like trekking to the theater when I have a big screen TV at home. In any case there are less interesting movie roles for young actors so hopefully Wu Lei doesn’t disappear too soon. I hope Regeneration does well enough that Netflix invests in more oof these shorter dramas that can attract movie level actors like JBR
