Yeah once an actor makes it onto the big screen you almost never see them in dramas anymore. Look at Liu Haoran the only one he made since NIF2 is Detective Chinatown and only bc it’s part of the movie franchise. Zhu Yilong also is more or less out of dramas and if Wu Lei can he will also soon disappear from the small screen. Pay is so much better with the box office boost.

Yes Shen Teng also. Lei Jiayin is slaying the box office! Even YM can’t tank him. They were in Writer’s Odyssey. She maybe got a dozen lines that made me cringe anyway. She should learn from ZLY who is going to play a mute to get around her lines. All these desperate fading idols trying to break it on to the big screen where their looks won’t matter as much!🤦🏻‍♀️

JBR is a movie actor. That already puts him in a different league. Movie actors are paid a lot more and get a share of the box office. They only make dramas occasionally bc it is to a wider audience. He hasn’t had a huge box office hit bc he was too young to get complex roles but I expect that will soon change. The movie scene is not a young idol actor scene bc they have to be able to deliver live recorded lines, no dubbing. The biggest names are actors like Lei Jiayin, Zhang Yi, Wu Jing etc.

LOL - I notice it too but try to suspend disbelief. He clearly has better core strength and posture!!! To be fair he is a graduate of arguably the best acting academy where they get proper training in that and he has been in quite a number of martial arts productions.

YSK doesn't hold on to power long. Maybe something like a year? I think this story will end before the 1911 Revolution anyway bc that kind of stuff gets butchered by censors even if it is a historical fact. The trailer suggests to me the drama will stop shortly after they find the treasure and make sure it is used for a worthy cause.

The classic guns vs martial arts scene in Bruce Lees ‘s Enter the Dragon years ago where after showing off his best kung fu moves he gets casually shot dead by a gunman who is like meh! It was copied many times by directors including Stephen Chow and Tarantino. If they kill off ZBF in this I will be very disappointed if it doesn’t have a similar gallows humor feel to it.
