As others have mentioned this is a lite version of Ming Lan. The other female centric family/ harem dramas where the FL does all the heavy lifting is New Life Begins, Song of Youth, Sword and Brocade and Court Lady. ADOS and Faithful are also female themed but they are all friends there isn't the family hierarchy dynamic. I think Ming Lan, ADOS and New Life Begins are generally the highest rated among all those. I have heard the Story of Yanxi Palace is also similarly themed and excellent but that is still on my PTW list.

She also accumulated $500k profit surplus in that time - a huge achievement even in today dollars! None of math and time line makes sense so I just try to ignore it.

The director is good and she always looks stunning but she has always fallen down on her voice acting. It is why despite her popularity she never made it big on the big screen all these years. I admit I don’t love what I heard in the trailer but it was so little it’s no basis to really say one way or another.

Let’s just say that as a villain this dude is just of average IQ level. Unlikely to survive S1 of GOT! 😂

In the first few episodes I doubt bc the emperor appointed GYX privately right after the previous head died. But he is a clever fellow and I think he may have figured it out at some point but idk exactly when. Initially I think he was just relieved to see GYX scarred himself, removing himself from the battle for the throne. He is cunning and decided if GYX is not a competitor, he should make him an ally, esp since the emperor trusts him. Eventually he may have figured out but maybe he was only trying to get GXY to side with him. By the later episodes I think he more or less guessed bc its hard to disguise voice, height, bearing and figure by just hiding behind a mask so I never believed HZ didn't figure out who he was sooner either but I guess we are supposed to suspend disbelief on that front.

Hopefully you are right. I am just bummed I couldn't get my hands on the episodes if they existed.
