Chinese gods are not all knowing or all good or all powerful. If they were, there would be no story to tell bc Mofang, Fusheng etc would be busted from day 1.

He is definitely not all knowing. Or all powerful. There are no concepts like that in Chinese pantheon.

I am not opposed to romance but I am not a romance watcher at all. I am enjoying this for the mystery plot.

I think that’s why I wasn’t sad - I feel like neither was in character so I never got into the moment.
