Tian Wai Tian is a very fancy restaurant here with the English name Above & Beyond that is on top of the Science Museum. And I know of at least one in Singapore and KL as well. But none of them are called Divine Realm!!! Is that how they translated it? I thought Divine Realm was how they translated 仙界? I just skimmed some Douban book reviews the novel is described as another Pillow Book. So I guess the dude is a divine rock formation!!! 😅😂

I suspect the reason a union between Xingzhi and Shen Li could become problematic or a threat is that that would put him on the same side with the Immortal Realm in the eyes of the Divine Realm and no longer impartial. If he were from the Divine Realm then he can simply replace Furong and they two realms marriage alliance goes forward as planned.

I don't think Xingzhi is from the Divine Realm. He is a primordial God from 天外天/Tiānwài tiān or beyond the heavens (no idea how they translated that but its a very popular name for Chinese restaurants). You could also say he is an alien from beyond the realms, the last of his race.

It was a very funny scene but he screamed zìyóu / 自由 which means freedom in Chinese. It sounds nothing like freedom in English.

Well I hear the book is a comedy but still there is the typical xianxia void or abyss or black hole or whatever that is spewing chimei and miasma that for sure is going to need to be sealed. And in this genre they really love sacrificing an ancient virgin to seal it so you get the picture… 😂😂😂

I hope not - the actor Li Zifeng is a really good at complicated roles.

Yes I think it should have been previous emperor but I have Chinese subs on so I am not sure how it was translated. I think it may go back to the capital bc there are military people in the cast list but I agree there are not likely to be war scenes.

I am just saying that from the cast list, if it is a rebellion plot the narrative focus is on the Heyang faction and how they schemed to cover up their tracks. And it was more likely a failed rebellion since it was so long ago. Or just as likely embezzlement/tax evasion - all executable crimes with no concept of statute of limitations.

With or without rebellion the Empress eventually becomes Empress Dowager - there is nothing gained there. Besides, I don't see any rival princes in the cast list and the Crown Prince should already be her son. There are however military related characters we haven't seen yet. And both Silver Rain and Jinshan gangs have interests in the port and water transport. So my guess is this has mostly to do with arms smuggling (for rebellion?) or tax evasion that Yang Caiwei's father discovered. That is why Lanjiang's father had to go underground. He was probably was afraid of being exposed somehow.
