Title Wonderland of Love Spoiler
It is beyond ridiculous that the emperor's escort would be unarmed. That would just never happen.
Well if you watched The Long Ballad, in that version the eldest prince was Changge's father and he also did kill his wife, her mother. But none of them were that stupid. I really wish they didn't write them like that. In history, they were all capable. No one was dumb.

I saw that part and I get it but its beyond my ability to suspend disbelief that the emperor, his personal guard and the court are all so unbelievably stupid they would allow that to happen. Any prince that even dares suggest such a thing would be accused of treason. Emperors are so heavily guarded they rarely leave the palace and when they do it is with full on security. The scene could have played out the same way with them armed. Its just the writer wants to make that very juvenile claim the Zhenxi army would never have been so easily defeated otherwise. There were so many better ways to make them fight poorly like poison their water or put laxatives into it.

Title Wonderland of Love Spoiler
She knows she herself is better than all the Imperial Li family put together - she started out thinking Li Ni…
You are right, Cui Lin has no clue at all what being empress is going to entail. I keep rooting for Laolan Pass and freedom bc in real history Li Shimin was ambitious and cut a bloody path to the throne - killing his brothers and forcing his father to abdicate. He loved his empress Wende but had many concubines and enjoyed his harem immensely, something which caused her great pain. They got instant karma as history repeated itself and their two older most capable sons were locked in an ugly succession battle that led to the eldest one trying to depose him. He ended up having to set them both aside and promote their younger son who was pretty weak and pretty much left everything to Wu Tzetian. Court Lady very accurately depicts their struggle and heartbreak in their later years. It was no fairytale so I am all for Li Ni getting his way and riding off into the sunset in this highly fictionalized account. With or without her.

Hasn't happened yet. She is arrogant and unwavering in the belief she is right and her way is the only way.
She is a hard nut to crack.🤷🏻‍♀️

To even think that someone yesterday (or was it the day before yesterday?) on here say that WOL didn't move them…
I think I must have watched way too many tragedies. There were some moving parts but I can't say I felt crying sad.

How does his crazy father even maintained his throne for that long.
There were lots of dumb emperors in Chinese history. Many of of them became puppets or were deposed eventually. During large stretches of Ming dynasty the eunuchs ran the country.

After 28th episode, story is finally getting back on track. How good was yesterday's episodes especially 30th!The…
The Cui father and daughter are to blame. They put all of this into play. Li Ni was more likely planning to let his brothers fight for the throne among themselves while he quietly returned to Laolan Pass. And eventually bring the boy there and keep him until he grows up. And then help him assert his claim. I think he was going to oppose his father anyway it was just later rather than sooner. They forced his hand and in doing so will also endanger the kid, whom everyone has pretty much forgotten about at this point, which is the safest solution for him.

Pushing him because of.... basically what happened in Ep 30?Even if Li Ni wants to leave all this and go to Laolan…
Laolan Pass is the farthest corner of the kingdom. It is effectively exile. Li Ni’s brothers are safe from him there as it is impossible to seize power from so far away. He is a greater threat if he remains in the capital and in close contact with the court. It is customary that once a crown prince is named, all the other grown princes are banished to their fiefs away from the capital. So when Li Ni keeps talking about Laolan Pass, the subtext he is conveying is he does not want the throne and does not want to be part of the power struggle. King Qi the other brother is a greater threat and would also be sent to his fief. The problem is emperor dim dim hasn’t officially named an heir yet. Cui Yi is also a threat to the throne. That is why he is not allowed to enter the capital and if he moves his army towards the capital it’s considered treason already.

Exactly. Idk how they are going to fix this other than let events bail them out. Like the poor kid dies and then Li Ni really has no choice...

Other than CL kicking GWN to the ground I agree the last two episodes were boring. The whole back and forth about…
I don't really agree with that. I don't watch k-dramas so I won't comment on that but in c-dramas there are lots of women who do very questionable things. I don't differentiate or have a gender bias when it comes to not liking characters that don't behave well. As for the SFL, I don't dislike her at all. She has done nothing wrong and I like and respect her methods a lot more than I do that of the FL and have made a number of comments to that effect. Although I did enjoy the FL kicking her off that stage.

True but it is actually Li Shimin (ie. Li Ni) who first married Wu Tzetian as a concubine. After he died, she married his son the emperor who succeeded him. A very controversial historical figure whose path to the throne was littered with bodies.
