You will also see Yaqi hugging Nanyi and telling her she must help him protect someone. And right then Qian walks by. Meaning Yaqi sent Nanyi in as a scrifice to protect Qian. And Yasi panics bc he wrongly assumed his Chi YWS was being sent as the sacrifice to protect Qian.

In the early episodes when Yasi and Yaqi were talking to the hidden Wufeng leader. It was somewhat in riddle about sacrificing one so that the other can advance. Idk how it was translated bc I watch in Chinese.
