IMHO the SML is actually the real ML of this show in the sense that most of the time this kind of story will be told from his POV as the righteous, perfect and capable hero. He is the main target that Wufeng sent a Mei level spy and not a Chi level spy after. But this director chose to tell the story from the POV of the underdog that no one cared about until he became Sword Wielder. It is IMHO because he means to kill off SCJ and if you kill the ML you get rocks thrown at you and your drama gets ubdeservedly panned by angry fans.

It is possible that only Hongyu got exposed to the fast reacting hairpin poison but Huanyu was only knocked out to the brink of death by the slower poison YZ doused her with which eventually killed the girl but didn't quite finish the job with Huanyu.

I am really not good at translating poems so I am not suggesting iQiyi's is bad but I think the many hints as relates to the plot are missing from it. I am just highlighting here what was lost in translation.
身有云雀 - Shēn yǒu yúnquè - With YunQue (iQiyi = peacock) - so he is thinking about Yun Que. It confirms the bracelet was Yun Que's.
清风翼 - Qīngfēng yì - translated "Light wings" but I think what is relevant is Qingfeng. This suggests either or both Yun sister is from Qingfeng. And notice the Feng in Qingfeng.
心若磐石 -Xīn ruò pánshí - heart like a rock - nothing here
埋深林 -Mái shēnlín - buried deep in the forest - that is where Yun Que's body was found.
It suggests 1. Young Master Yue loved Yun Que and Yun Que is dead. He may even have been the one who got her body out. It kind of kills my idea that SGQ is actually YQ. But it also gives Master Yue a motive to take revenge for Yun Que or help YWS once he figures out who she is.

Yes, Wind Elder was my top suspect for mom's lover but it could be any one of the Elders/someone from the back mountain. If it is not Wind Elder that is her lover, he broke away from Gong family for a different reason not yet revealed. But I am quite sure from the word play Wufeng is related to Gong family somehow, most likely Wind Elder is the link.

I think Mdm Wuji definitely tampered with their medication. She was probably trying to undermine them over time. But I suspect what happened that night is that YZ poured poison down Zheng Nanyi's dress. He doused her with poison and Hongyu and Huanyu were exposed to her when they were interrogating her. She was like a targeted biological weapon for them bc their elixir stopped working. So maybe Wuji didn't mean to kill them then and there. Because tampering with their elixir works over time not immediately. That's just my best guess..
