The Chinese ad market is extremely weak right now. We should be grateful they even managed to sell enough slots to allow this to air. Promotion costs lots of money and the return on that is negative at the moment. Spending lots of money on promotion will make it even bigger budget and even harder to sell enough slots so that the drama can bring in enough $$$ to air. Tencent's Parallel World also dropped with virtually no promotion. I for one am just grateful these dramas actually dropped, no promotion is fine with me.

Yups - he pops up as Young Master Xue (Snow) in ep 7. Seems he hasn't been charged yet. iQiyi had a similar problem in The Knockout but since it was a support role, they were allowed to keep airing and edit him out later. I am glad I watched it before he was edited out bc I have no idea how/what they ended up doing.
What he essentially said is he believes that Ziyu will try to rush through the trials. The term he used is 闯完 which doesn't imply he succeeds or fails either it just suggests a sense of urgency or a dash. I understand why they translated it as complete, it is correct but doesn't have the nuance. I went back and watched that - he was just being condescending and putting him in his place at the same time - emphasizing he is older and wiser. Even his comment - I am sure you will complete the trial soon - was meant to be a taunt and means the opposite of what he said. He was just putting on a show in front of the Elders. He doesn't mean anything he says. He is just more polished than his silly little brother who openly questions his bloodline.

Yeah I don't remember his word choice in Chinese - I don't really read subs but I have the Chinese ones on to look at names and word play. The English subs also often flips the order of the spoken words which is annoys and distracts me bc it doesn't match what I am hearing. Do you remember which part of Ep 8 was it? Well the four elders Wind Flower Snow and Moon 风花雪月 Fēnghuāxuěyuè is actually a Chinese idiom that immplies romance. So the writer is hinting that something may have gone wrong in matters of the heart.

Yes so my theory is the Wind Elder was either banished or holds some official position in court or something that makes it impossible for him/her to be on the mountain. I think more likely he was banished. I also suspect Zeng Shunxi is playing the Young Master Wind.

There are four elders - Yue/Moon, Xue/Snow, Hua/Flower and Feng/Wind. The fourth Feng 风/Wind elder is never there. I think he was booted out or left to found WuFeng 无锋. The pinyin Fēng is the same for both characters 锋and 风. So my guess is the Wind elder is the founder of WuFeng where the wordplay hint is No Wind. And that is why he/she? knows about the Infinite Fire weapon and wants to get it but no longer has access to the back mountain.
The closest character I can think of is 角 which means Jiao or horn. But I cannot think of the connection.
