Its a dark comedy/spy thriller. Its one of those dramas that is more enjoyable to watch without knowing too much about it, which is why Tencent initially released it without a synopsis. If you like stuff like Fargo (the US TV series) and White Lotus, you may want to check it out. Its Republican period so of course there are patriotic themes.

Don’t worry about it - suspect they are deeply disturbed and a coward. They did the same thing to me, sent me an unwarranted rude DM and then did me the favor of blocking me so that I don’t have to waste a block or a reply on them. They probably blocked you too which is why you can’t see it anymore unless you logout and visit the thread logged out. It’s fine by me bc I don’t bother to waste time arguing with crazy people I would have just blocked them with no reply anyway.

We will never know what made her change her mind but four years is a long time mentally and financially to go up against someone with unlimited resources. I doubt the $50k was even enough to pay her legal fees. As for the drama I don’t like the mastermind angle at all - it kind of makes him look like he was a victim also.

Oh you mean those where each one comes up to you and individually toasts you? The trick is once someone starts that to just get up and go round the table and clink your glass with each of them before taking a sip. That is how you force them to go 1:1 with you instead of 12:1.

I think the poor girl in the JD case was just shamed and bullied on social media into settling. I doubt she was out for money. I mean she could have gotten a lot more - $50k is chump change to him. I have seen women like her interact with powerful men. It is overwhelming and if they are young they will almost definitely do stupid things their older selves will regret.

Yeah sadly this kind of stuff happens too often in China and actually everywhere. The JD case shone a spotlight on it and hopefully this drama will further raise social discourse and education on it.

I think he already knows in his subconscious mind, he just hesitates to put it into words. Because I think he prefers Di Liyuan to be free to run around with him as Anle than have her turn into a completely cowed and caged bird like Di Chengen.

Well I don't think Anning herself has really figured out exactly what she saw yet. And by itself I doubt it's enough to overturn the case. I think its just a very important clue if put together with other clues.

Yeah I don’t mind her either. I think it’s really funny whenever both Hanye and Anning give her side looks that say “who the fuck are you and what did you do to our Ziyuan”.

I find the masks really annoying.
