I have a question about why it is important to stop the Gu family from leaving?
It seems Wang just wants the money to raise an army. The Gus are already leaving a big chunk of their wealth they cannot liquidate behind. Seems like it's easier to quietly seize what they have left behind rather than so quickly tipping their hand to rebel? I mean secretly raising a 100k army is the kind of thing that if found out all 19 of Wang's sons will be surely executed for. After all Luo has already figured out they have already moved out a lot of money to Youzhou. That part is already gone.

Ah... ok... I was really bothered by episode 1. In any case tyvm it is good to know ep 1 was just off bc I like the actress a lot. Seems though like I shouldn't pick it up again regardless.

I didn't even get past half an episode. Qin Lan should avoid modern business dramas - she obviously doesn't understand the concepts at all and can't get into character. I cringed through her line delivery and expressions. I really wish I had never seen her trying to do this. I stopped just after Wang Yang pops up. I really like him but she is unbearable.

Yeah I actually think he is the best at villain roles but he is such a good actor that he deserves some success in lead roles after so many years as supporting cast.
