Indeed but I don't think it would have helped. Mo Bufan would have just found another way bc he didn't want to live without Kang Qiao and that wasn't going to change. And YX would be out-ed to the sect leader. They shouldn't have killed of KQ. Once they did, MBF was dead too.
I am terribly sad they killed off Mo Bufan. He was the funniest of them all. And it was dumb bc they can't even properly do a S2 to catch the pirates without him bc he's been laundering their money all this while.

That's true but not exactly true either. There are people like Ty the Canasian and Deathblade that review novels, donghua and occasionally dramas that have a lot more substance than AvenueX. Maybe MDL users are less familiar with them. They are not as commercial and not as regular but they also don't flog merchandise all the time either. I am trying hard not to be unfair to her bc I kind of hate her since ZZH so I will say she knows a thing or two about history and culture and she is quite artistic. But she is also super shallow and vindictive and there are lots of YouTubers out there that actually know a lot more including the MDL user CloudA. I don't have time to follow any of them but I come across them randomly all the time.

There are many but I usually get them from Chinese sites like Douban, Bili2 etc I don't know how many are on Youtube. I don't agree with them all the time but the ones l like are: Douban: Pumpkin Pie ็บข้ๅ จ็็ๅ็้ฅผ, "้ฟๆplus" (A star plus) and Maria ็ไธฝๅจ Bili2: ่ๆๆ็" (Mango Planet) and ๅฐ่ฏบๅฎๅฉ" (Xiao Nuo Anli) Douyin: "ๅฐๆขฆๆณๅฎถ" (Little Dreamer), "ๅฐ่ฑ่ฑ็็ตๅฝฑๆถๅป" (Little Huahua) and "็ฟป่ฏๅฐๅงMissTrans" (MissTrans). There are lots more but these are some I can think of off the top of my head with followings in the millions/hundreds of thousands. Yups that's why I don't give AvenueX the time of the day. Actually there are many, far better and more balanced reviewers with truly massive followings but unfortunately they all post in Chinese. She parrots them. That's why her views are never that consistent. She blows the way the wind blows on the Chinese internet. I don't watch her anymore since ZZH but this part is well known and anyone fluent in Chinese will tell you the same.

Yeah as it turns out, Yanan and YX were playacting - their alliance still held and they faked Jin Shiliang's death together. YX didn't need to wallow in 4 episodes of moping to confuse us when even 1 would have been excessive. The Nangong-Guan alliance was just mutual self interest and that part was actually quite well done. All YX did was create doubt and make NGF and Pirate Guan second guess themselves. Their alliance is just mutual self interest. YX used the genius empty fort strategy that Zhuge Liang used to defeat Sima Yi during 3 Kingdoms. It is a brilliant and always successful tactic bc even if both NGF and Guan are 99pct sure they can win and YX is bluffing, they won't dare to attack bc WHAT IF??? It is how you make your enemy defeat himself in his own mind. The real issue with the finale is Prince Fu's multi decade plan had more holes than Swiss cheese. Ming Dynasty was a vast empire at the time and the seat of power was in Beijing and they were attacking from way south in Nanjing (Nandu). The idea that they can topple the seat of power with a raggedy band of pirates and rebel sects is ridiculous. A serious real army would be needed with many bases and many sources of supplies that is impossible to wipe out by burning a warehouse. There would be logistics centres all over the place. In real life the Ning Rebellion took more than a month to put down and it took real armies and not just the scheming of one strategist no matter how ingenious he is. They rushed through the end bc if you looked closely at the rebellion plot design it was ridiculous. But its ok, it was enjoyable anyway.

Besides a prequel, the pirate arc is the only remaining part of the original IP that can be adapted. and I think it could be quite fun. Unfortunately I believe this wasn't enough of a commercial success for iQiyi to support aS2, although no doubt the producer wishes it will. Maybe like Young Blood 2 which was also originally on iQiyi, a smaller platform like MangoTV will take it over and make a much shorter S2.
