Would that kind of case pass censorship though?
Normally I would say no but based on Draw the Line they got a lot more open. But I guess not that much more open.

Dilreba looks very smart and professional here with her uniformšŸ˜
Her regular voice dubber has done her a major disservice.

Well it's nice to see Dilraba in this kind of role so if you are a huge fan then yes. If you need a good plot etc as well then its too early to say. A lot seems to happen in the first two episodes but yet they seem to have only scratched on the surface of the cases so its too early to tell if they do a good job with those.

That will be interesting. But tricky tricky, that will be more like a domestic case. This drama seems to focus…
Yeah it's terrible - it was all over our local press with the govt repeatedly warning the public there is no such thing as a high paying job that requires no education and hard work! The cases in Draw the Line are controversial and very good - up until a bit past the halfway point.when various court officials get personally embroiled into the cases. Then it became ridiculous but it's almost episodic and not one you have to watch each case.

Did I say ML got a nice body ?
I want to let you know how utterly lacking in consideration this comment is.
I am at work at the moment.
There is no way for me to discreetly check this out.
5pm seems to be a lifetime away.

Basically investigations grind to a screeching halt in summer when all the prosecutors are parked next to an aircon and not moving.

I am sure they can outdoors when they are not on official business but its kind of the People's Court's uniform they have to show the serious weight of office on official business. I know the police uniform is short sleeve blue cotton shirts for summer. Chinese court officials do lots of field work but I don't remember seeing a short sleeve uniform for them.

Yeah and they did tackle a lot of very controversial domestic cases in Draw the Line but they were more on the civil side. The international ones are tricky bc China technically has no jurisdiction - they are not the US and not trying to kill Bin Laden or something like that where they can just storm across other people's borders. I guess that's why it will be Country A, B, C... etc. Those cross border love scam and job scams actually happened to a bunch of HK people where they actually crossed borders and got put into slavery in places like Cambodia, Laos etc. Very hard to get them back.

Doesn't look like winter. Besides that is a standard year round uniform I think. Seen it in a lot of crime dramas.

I was kind of hoping they would feature the Kris Wu case but it looks like its mostly gonna be cyber crime.

wait so the cases that are shown here will be/are based on real cases? :oas I see a based on a true story tag…
The People’s Court sponsored two dramas as part of a charm offensive to make itself less opaque - this one and last year’s Draw the Line. They are both written based on real cases, many high profile with of course some changes to protect the innocent and for dramatic effect. If you Google China Spain extradition cybercrime you can read about what is probably the opening solved case. They skipped over that the criminals are mostly Taiwanese which made me laugh.

Hahahah they are not semantics but different concepts. Justice is much bigger than the law and they are not the same. But here we agree pointless.

Well hopefully they can turn it into win win bc that makes sense to me if it is not an either or choice.

Hope it doesn't come down to that kind of choice bc in general it is not easy to root for a hero (or CP) that says let the world burn I will save my love. Not to mention that probably won't pass censorship either.
