Geez this is not a good foreshadowing. I don't like this idea of a last dance in a wedding dress. I hope that dragon koi never learns how to play a flute or any musical instrument.

I'm 10 eps in and I ship Gu Meng x Zhou Zi Chen 😂I know it's not going to happen and that he's friendzoned…
I think the bigger issue is there is a huge risk is the big bad guy.

I finally had time to rewatch chunks of this with English subs this time. They look alright. Seems like Tencent did go back and clean up the subs. I didn't see the "bad subs" but these look quite decent.

IMHO the two men have more chemistry and it is very suggestive.

It's really too bad because the cut scenes totally messed with th chemistry of the leads.
Yes it definitely did... but at least it aired...

About 10 minutes were cut from most episodes, many containing SWL and JBR's scenes. You can find them online.

Not a fan of ML. This should've been a guilty pleasure but ML is not the right choice for me.
They are both hot in their own ways.

agreed.. watching her is less suffocating than FL from MR. But to be fair, FL from MR was also more naive because…
Yes indeed - I want to know who thought her how to fight!!!

Didn’t know about Japan being the same… Interesting! But then again if I recall correctly…. Crime rates…
And where in that quote does it say "effectiveness of the justice system?" 🤔The legal process is not the same as the justice system as a whole. It is a big part of it no doubt but not the system in its entirety. If you don’t understand that distinction then it’s a pointless discussion.

Don’t put words in my mouth I am pretty sure I didn’t not comment on the effectiveness of any particular justice system but you definitely did. All I said is if you are charged with a crime what your odds of getting convicted are in a bunch of different countries. If you read more into it the flaw is in the reading and not the writing. 😜

It makes no sense - every country needs a National Security Law. And the 2019 protests which morphed into domestic terrorism and anarchy proved we needed this kind of law. In any case, we have rule of law here and only time will tell what the conviction rate is with this law. I will be watching.
I didn't watch that one but I think the organised crime kind of stuff still has to have predictable govt wins endings but the some of the mystery and crime thrillers have had more interesting endings in recent years,

Yes indeed it's called the Internal Security Act which means anything that threatens national security. Lee Kwan Yew used it to jail journalists that criticised him. But the Free Press doesn't want talk about it bc Singapore is a democracy but yet none of them dare to base themselves in Singapore bc of the ISA. They bash HK/China all the time but love to live here. Bc our new National Security Law still guarantees you a right to a trial. HK's conviction rate is only a little bit more than 50pct so it's actually a place where a good lawyer can usually get you a good outcome.
Chinese crime dramas of late have been quite good actually but you are right bad things must always happen to the bad guys. But there have been exceptions recently where they leave open what happened to the bad guy but I won't spoil you by naming those dramas. This has a chance to be good bc Draw The Line actually admitted some of the shortcomings and challenges of China's legal system. They did it in a positive way of course but its good they didn't try to cover up the flaws.

Not just Japan, Korea also - your chance of being found not guilty there is 0.7pct. I guess you can see why they are all very law abiding societies. Singapore canes convicted criminals with medicated whips, also a big reason for low crime rates there.
This drama along with Draw the Line were both funded by The People's Court. Draw the Line ended up being very well done but it focused more on civil cases. This looks like more focused on criminal cases. Different writing and production teams. I am also curious to see how Dilraba does.

Haven’t you said before trailers aren’t always accurate? We will know whether it’s law related or cop related…
LOL - I am saying the trailer looks promising - are you suggesting it's not? In any case, let's hope the trailer is not misleading because otherwise, we are in for a very boring drama where there is lots of talking and court trials where the prosecutor wins all the time.
