I will probably go through stuff that's aired or my on-hold or dropped lists to see what I can watch. The sh*t is really hitting the fan on this thing so....

I am afraid there is going to be a dry spell. Lots of dramas are getting yanked into airing as backlash to the comedian House jokes. Dramas are getting pulled left and right I don't think we will have many choices.

Well KYJ started going out of character when he "betrayed" YX bc he got nothing meaningful out of it. And Yanan has been out of character for awhile. So either the writer is really a shit writer or something else is afoot... In that case, of course we can hope they all survived but in KQ case it looks impossible.

Well Yuntai is a closed environment that YX has no control over so it's hard to fake a death - it's the most dangerous place for them in the drama. Also I don't think MBF wants to live without Kang Qiao. The reason I think they may be faking their alliances is KYJ didn't kill KQ, the other dude did and he seemed a reluctant participant in the whole thing. But if he is also a mole like his sister, then JB death may also be faked. That would also explain why Yanan is not sad enough.

Lol... that is the one I am really looking forward to. The gorier the better.

Well I think that's the last final possible twist that could still save this thing. That all along both sides are playing Qian shu 千术 against each other. So Yanan and YX have been colluding all along and using the same Qian tactics Fu/NGF have been using against them - i.e., let them think they are winning so that they get complacent and deal them a death blow at that point. In that case JB is still alive and even KYJ is working with them and waiting for them at Nandu along with Qian Pang etc. But at Yuntai, Zhang Beidou was a wild card that YX did not predict/could not control and that part went the wrong way and caused MBF and KQ to really die as a result. If that is somewhat how it goes down then they can still save the drama. Otherwise I don't care about the predictable last 2 episodes outcomes at this point.

I hope they don't waste much time on him. I think he plays the villain well but is not smart or well written. He should just run into someone's sword and die quickly so that time can be spent wrapping up other stuff. If Kou Yan beats anyone up I hope it's Prince Fu/Yuntai master instead. But I kind of doubt it I noticed they don't seem to want to toss the older actors around too much on the wires. That's why even Kang Qiao's master was killed off so quickly and too easily. I actually don't think we have any good fights left.

I like Chen Xiao but the way he mourned bc Yanan took off relative to his grief over Jin Biao, Mo Bufan and Kang Qiao is way out of proportion. If she had died I would have understood but I just think not a great portrayal at all.

For a revenge drama the leads are very not vengeful. Like they just watch their friends die left and right with insufficient grief and anger.

Yeah which was probably true to be honest. The young emperor survived that rebellion but died shortly thereafter under suspicious circumstances. Like he literally fell off a boat and since he had no heirs, another fief prince was enthroned. Ironically if Prince Ning/Prince Fu had only waited, he'd probably have been made emperor eventually with no mess no fuss. Or if he were a better schemer, he would have just bribed a eunuch to throw him off a boat rather than going down the path of high treason.

I recall something about the emperor was old and dying and the crown prince is very young which would make the empress effectively in charge and better he than her. I was too incensed at how much of a chauvinist pig he was to pay attention to the numbers.

YX did warn them many times not to be drawn. Bc there is no way to protect them at the sect they are vastly outnumbered. The only way to survive is to get back to Nandu. Obviously Zhong Beidou really belonged in Lingyuan bc the poor old dude was all fight and no brain and allowed himself to be provoked. It's terrible what happened but I don't blame YX. I am more mad at the back stab. That was too ignominious and cheap of a way to kill off the poor old guy. It kind of reminds me of those old Tarantino movies where someone shows off their scary kung fu moves and the other guy just casually shoots them dead with a gun. It just somehow was not funny here.

Hope so but one of the reasons I don't like Ming Dynasty is the emperors were very depraved and cruel. Starting with the founding emperor they devised extremely cruel ways to stifle dissent and believe in eliminate enemies down to 9 generations - like the Chinese idiom zhǎn cǎo chú gēn 斩草除根 cut weeds and eliminate the roots.

I think he and LGQ planed it together bc they were already onto Prince Fu's rebellion. What YX may have been surprised by (or not) is that Yuntai master is Prince Fu. I think he must have had some idea, he must recognise his voice.

Yeah I think that's why many things don't make sense.

Probably still YX bc Prince Fu had years to start planning ahead while YX was still clueless at Yuntai.

Even if Prince Fu becomes emperor his daughter can never succeed him bc the founding Ming emperor put in place very clear, male lineage succession rules. He had so many sons, grandsons and great grandsons etc that dynasty was littered with fief princes like Prince Fu, all who would have taken precedence over Mingzhu or any princess.

The problem is they have pretty much killed off all the best loved characters. Outside of the main couple there is really no one left to root and I never really cared for the romance anyway. The finale feels anti-climatic at this point.
