The drama's opening and/or closing credits are always the most official sources. In Qin Lan's case she is a guest star that has high billing but MDL doesn't make that distinction.

Lol - Chinese translation depends a lot on context and intepretation which makes it very hard for AI. And Chinese native speakers struggle with grammar bc the language doesn't have anywhere near as many rules. You can say a lot with 4 words in Chinese that would take at least 8 words in English upon translation. I had a boss who wrote in my review that I was super lazy bc I used to translate his long winded and verbose mulit-page memos into 1 pagers in Chinese. I shrank them even shorter after that.

Chinese is a much simpler, concise and less pretentious language. It doesn’t get bogged down by pronouns, modifiers and other excessive and fussy grammar rules. All the Chinese subtitles of few words have to be converted into much longer sentences in English to capture the meaning and be grammatically correct.

Well it seems to me that someone at court has done a pretty good job balancing the power of three powerful factions - Nangong Fang, Yuntai and Lingyuan. They are so busy fighting each other they have no time to try to overthrow the empire!

Yeah, I don't mind that he is only one and not three steps ahead of everyone else but he was advertised like as a chess grandmaster that's just moving pieces around but that seems far from the case. It is more like Ms Su was one step ahead of him and both Mo Bufan and Yanan also know things he doesn't although he also has secrets from them. I think Nan Gongfan is going to be an interesting character.
