FYI - I saw that the last episode is subbed on iQiyi. I think the ending is fine for a procedural but not so much for a psychological thriller. That is how I expect Who is He which I am also watching to be resolved.
In the end I did understand the marriage dynamic. He was probably tempted to cheat but more than that, he was testing her, just as she was testing him. He wants her to trust him, to know he won't cheat on her. Even though he has ample opportunity bc many women come on to him.

Actually he never cheated. The poor dumb fuck actually loves the bitch. I think he did all of that stuff to test his wife, to rouse her suspicion as a desperate way to get her attention. And good for him, he actually did. What a messed up relationship.

From the reviews, it does seem like the adaptation sticks close to the novel down to who did it and why. I think it fails as a psychological suspense story bc of the loose connections and introducing a flimsy killer who shows up at the end is kind of cheating. The relationship analogy between her marriage and the whole concept of infidelity is also not a good parallel. Many did not like the book bc its neither here nor there - its not really about marriage/relationships and its kind of a sub par mystery as well.

Well his favorite book is Dr Zhivago which is about a man who re-encounters an old love after he married someone else. So I am guessing that was an old lover, who is also probably married. Thus they are both hesitant to reassume their affair.
