Hemu/other Xinjiang resorts are only a 4-5 hours flight from Beijing and you can also take the high speed train overnight to Urumqi and fly from there. Nanshan of course is great but it is not powder snow and very crowded nowadays and the crowd can be kind of reckless and dangerous. Can you ski anywhere near where you are? I didn't go for 3 years during covid but went again this year and it was so great to hit the slopes again. You should try to go!
