why in every movie or drama, there are instances where you meet someone as a child and meet again by accident…
I think it happens all the time, I bump into many school friends years after I grew up. In fact, my sister-in-law sat in front of my bro for a year at age 14 but never spoke to him until they met again 14 years later. And now they are married with kids.

They are ok but hardly special - I would guess some BOB fans may be disappointed.

Should be easy peasy. The older sister was 15 at the time, practically grown. Once Shu Tang sees her unmasked she should recognize her. But if not there is always Shu Tang's hairpin, which even Li Wu recognized.

I think its quite interesting that in a nod to Brotherhood of Blades, the screenwriter includes the Mu sisters...
... separated forcibly after their family's betrayal/downfall. One ends up a courtesan and the other a rebel that is the love interest of the lead character. But thankfully they are both not helpless in this drama like they were in the movies.

Nice to see a number of actors from Longxi!
I am happy they gave Sun Yi a much better role here and left out Angelababy.

I really like Gu Kaiyan's character. She is so calm and so smart in the way she interrogates the suspects and literally traps them. So good.

This passed review almost 6 months ago already, well before BFB and LOA. It is normal that this drops first. TLP hasn't even passed review.

Not as heavy as Longxi. But its definitely not fluffy there is a lot of politics/conspiracy going on.

Which one in Ep#1 - the sadist Lei Zhen? Or the peddlar from the North at the noodle stall?
Ah I see - I didn't mean in person just that he is mentioned a few times already.

Prince Yan is Zhu Di. He will seize the throne so everyone working for him is on his side. The peddler from the North most likely works for Prince Yan.

Its already on the Chinese app but not on the international.
Glad iQiyi worked out for you after all. The problem with Astro is it is so badly managed like so many things in Malaysia. I watched a chunk of Royal Nirvana and Longest Day in Changan onAstro and Royal Nirvana was very difficult to translate. I usually don't need subtitles but I struggled with some of the classical ancient Mandarin in Royal Nirvana but Astro's subtitles (for both) were amazing. That's why my folks keep the subscription bc my mom likes to watch those difficult long historicals and needs good subtitles. There must be a c-drama channel on it bc my folks rarely watch HK dramas.

Well as it so happens, this is directed by the SSFV director. Lu Yang is only producing. The good news is the action scenes for SSFV were good but very different from Lu Yang's style of direction in both Brotherhood of Blades and Longxi.

Ah ok - idk they even have an app - my parents are old fashioned and theirs is just a cable box to their TV. If you don’t need subtitles I think the LongTV box is great - it has everything and you can get it on Lazada or Shoppee.

On Pledge of Allegiance Mar 28, 2023
This story unfolds in the third year of the short-lived (5 years) Jianwen reign of Ming dynasty. The end of this second Ming emperor's reign is steeped in mystery that leaves ample room for historical speculation. He was succeeded by Zhu Di or the Yongle emperor who already pops up in episode 1 but I won't spoil it further. Zhu Di was one of the most controversial emperors in Chinese history - as glorious and successful as he was unbelievably cruel. He was most recently portrayed by Feng Shaofeng in The Imperial Age (2022), which was so badly destroyed by censorship that I unfortunately had to drop it.
