I see you liked Reset and you are watching Someday or Oneday (which is still on my PTW). Then you should probably check out The Heart of Genius. Its really good. Its about parallel universe. Douban 7.5 vs Reset 7.7.

I also think Tencent should do at least 4 days a week, i.e, 8 episodes but I think that won't happen. Watch something else - there are a few decent other airing dramas.

Tencent can decide how many episodes to drop a week without consulting the Chinese govt. It is their decision to only do 6 episodes a week. If they drag it out, there is a higher chance the weak ad market recovers and they can sell more slots; i.e., make more money.

I didn't read the novel but I have seen that one of the main criticisms about the adaptation is that it has become a story about a girl who travels to a parallel world to try to save her father. While the book is about a girl who is doing that to try to better herself.

No she is dead she killed herself and it was her funeral that delayed him.

Actually 21/22 PZ and his dad made me really sad. Imagine PZ's dad realising how damaged his son became after he died. I didn't like cheese PZ until then. I don't like PZ mom in either world so I don't empathise with her. I think she is a control freak and it is her fault PZ's dad died. I am on team leave her behind.
I always check out Lei Jiayin's dramas, he generally picks good scripts.

The age of consent in China today is still 14. It is still 13 today in Japan. During those times, any woman that reaches puberty is marriageable. My grandmother married at 14 and she was a mother by 15. My grandad was in his early twenties. They had 14 children. I guess that is what happens when you start early.

The orphan girl was actually not important to her fiancee/YS's master but she was just the straw that broke the camel's back. After waiting I think 7 years, when he delayed his return bc of this girl, 3rd aunt decided it was not meant to be and she was done waiting for him. YS shifu regretted it for the rest of his life.

Hu Ge has two dramas coming up. The one with Zhang Xincheng is a Daylight Entertainment flag waving drama which I think will be awesome even though it may be propaganda heavy. I hope it will at least match if not exceed last year's Minning Town. He will also be in Wang Kar Wai's (In the Mood for Love director) Blossoms Shanghai drama. That one I have heard more mixed comments about. It is allegedly too Western but tbh I won't mind that part.

Yes they did a movie together that should come out this year but who knows how long it will take for international audiences to watch it. Also a movie is only 2 hours, I want them in a super long drama together again bc I am that greedy. 😂😂😂

Of course once everyone knows, they are busted and they are no longer interchangeable. But suppose nobody found out? Cheese world is a better world for both cheese PZ and LZX. I guess I can understand PZ's desire to stay more than LZX's wish to go back.

This is a very interesting drama, it surprised me also.

I think the key is once a character knows there is a parallel universe, any switch is bad for whoever thinks the grass is greener elsewhere (i.e. cheese JJ and strawberry PZ. Old Lin and PZ's dad it is not clear bc maybe they just want their kid to be where they are happiest). In any case, there are too many permutations on what can happen to speculate at the moment but I will say that considering cheese LZX and PZ are in limbo, the only possibility must be that everyone must go back to where they started out.

I had a hard time with her right after we get back to the grownup world. But by episode 20, I think she is doing ok. Not the best in the world but no worse than Zhang Xincheng either. It is just hard bc the child actors really out-acted the adult actors by a long mile.

Don't know how its resolved but you are right - Strawberry LZX made a huge mistake when she told Cheese PZ the truth. She compounds it by telling Strawberry PZ the truth. Neither of them end up happy where they are. I think it set in motion a bunch of events that have snowballed into this but in the end the solution is easy. The two PZs switch worlds and we are done.

He is his mentor. I want to see them reunite in a drama.

I just think it is kind of a sad story. It is Ji Jiang vs Pei Zhi. Pei Zhi is happy in strawberry world and Ji Jiang is happy in cheese world. But it is complicated. Pei Zhi is sad and tragic in cheese world. And so are Lin Zhaoxin and her father. We don't know that much Ji Jiang's story in strawberry world but its obvious cheese world is good for him. And Zhao Xin is somehow caught in between.

If that is the case, don't overthink it and just enjoy it. There is nothing like the first drama you care about. Mine in hindsight wasn't that great but it didn't matter I still love everything about it. Sadly its not an experience that repeats so enjoy it while you can. It is kind of like first love. 😜
