I think there is quite a bit of onset recording but I don't think all of it is. They just overdub parts that don't come out, which is why it sounds a bit weird. The Chinese technology on this is not that good yet. And the actors are not as well trained in their vocals obviously bc they don't do it that often. But I am sure with the rule change it will get better in time.

I have heard there going to be a lot of poetry in this drama, especially rhapsodies or fu 赋 because that is the form that became very popular during Han Dynasty. I am not that good at Chinese poetry but I do know that the fu or rhapsody is much more long winded and exposition style full of bombastic words and can be quite moralistic in tone with many archaic or difficult to understand words. I was laughing at that part because it is so fitting that someone of Yuan Shen intellectually superior personality would totally love this kind of very verbose and pompous style of poetry with strong moral tone. And of course CSS would just roll her eyes and think its boring and circuitous.
