Great review and an equally superb title for your review! 😍Like you, I'm taking my sweet (pun intended) time…
Tyvm my friend. This one was super addictive at the start but just faded for me as well and can be finished leisurely.

I am also waiting for the next NIF - may be it will be NIF3? In the meantime Love Like the Galaxy looks promising...

If they stay true to the novel though, the ending is happy unlike TROP.
The thing is they did NOT stay true to the novel ending for TROP.

I wasn't in a rush to finish at all which says everything. And as I point out, my rating is more a reflection…
No I was watching something else on that.

I didn't buy it but I got a free link that I didn't use bc its limited to the small screen. I did have access to the big screen Chinese version on my internet box I think that is where I watched the final episodes.

How did I like it more then you did; your review is way more positive then mine and our ratings are the same lol!…
I wasn't in a rush to finish at all which says everything. And as I point out, my rating is more a reflection of the acting and production values not enjoyment factor or storytelling.

Thx - I enjoyed reading this - makes me think maybe I abandoned Marvelous Women a little bit too early. May have to revisit that one...

Lol - I found Chi Pan super annoying as well and laughed at your rant. I think despite your misgivings you enjoyed this more than I did!

A rare 9.0 from you! What a great review, as always. I agree the chemistry was great but I found it sizzles out…
The romance does peak a little too soon and unfortunately the writing is not worthy of a 9.0 even though the acting and directing is. But I figured it is also important to reward shows that try to be fresh and original.

I think Netflix only has the Taiwan rights so you probably have better luck with WeTV.

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
did his father (xiao qinyan) really mean to kill PanEr, or did his younger brother (xiao wei) make that all up?…
I agree his intent is strongly implied but I am not sure how son bestowing the "sister-in-law" title on Pan'er means for sure his dad intended to kill her. I kind of dismissed the idea after they got away so easily bc good intentions aside Xiao Wei is a rather foolish young man. Like if Xiao Qinyan truly intended to silence her there would be more than one attempt. In any case that part of the plot is rather convoluted and leaves loose ends, maybe due to editing as you point out.

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
they already married in ep 38 ? or what? can some one explain?
You are referring to the way Xiao Wei addresses Pan'er as sister-in-law? It is just his way to say I accept you and I am on your side. They are technically not married yet.

I think it is left to viewer interpretation. I do believe that Xiao Wei believed his father intended to kill Pan'er but from my observation of Xiao Qinyan he tends to move chess pieces around and let others do the dirty work. I think his more important message however is that Pan'er is she should not rely on Xiao Qinyan to save Qianfan. He already wrote off this son that was long lost to him anyway because he always chooses power first over all else.

The first arc ends a few episodes after the mid-point.
Yeah its very obvious it is a new arc bc they go to another city.

Can someone tell me if Yinzhang will fall for Gu Qianfan and create any trouble again?
Nah she is just immature, not evil.

Title Heroes
Do you know the answer to this question, does DFJ die in the novel? I read somewhere someone said he remained…
Yups.
There were so many changes I stopped trying to figure out what happened. I guess just accept the drama version. 😄

No I don't think you missed anything. That was only in the book, they changed it in the drama to just make Quan Qi her uncle. I don't have all the volumes of the book so idk what happened to her mother. Quan Qi also doesn't die so soon in the book so idk what happened to him there either.
