Because they still have an audience. Some are just so happy to get BL content that they really don’t care about the story and the message. That needs to change for the production to change. Ratings like 8.7, like here only encourages the makers.

My friend had the same thoughts while watching the show. She especially hated that grown Solo can’t warm his own milk! And since I wanted her to watch it so we can both be “diss buddies” and also coz misery loves company. I told her to watch the show with a different view point ... instead of thinking of Solo looking for a boyfriend in Gui think of it as a toddler Solo wanting a parent and finding one in Gui. Although it dint fully help, she said it was slightly better. Hahahahaha Also, when u read the novel Kao will annoy u even more. I don’t think he’s cute at all, so far he’s been a pick pocketer and stalker all in the name of love.

Again, if u look at it from GUI’s point ... he wanted to make money n he thought engineers make money to help his mom .... even if his mom passed away he could continue his moms dream - to make money n continue what she was doing - which was provide better life for those who don’t have it! How is him become a secretary helping him in any way ? Giving it all up for solo is just plain sad and in no way honoring his dream or his mom. Solo does his own charity but how does that fulfill GUIs dream ?

I read the book too. I thought the same like Xandi! I read first book and thought it was cute and din give it too much thought. N then started nitrogen and I can see what Xandi says is true. Solo is music major n handles business projects while Gui gives up being an engineer because Solos dad expects him to be near Solo. So Gui studies management and becomes a secretary !!!! This you can read in the the epilogue or special chapters book from the same author. And even in Nitrogen book 2... Kao graduates in music and then Phu is pushing him to be his secretary. N don even get me started on how Kao is “curing” Phu’s brothers depression. But anyways ... the “bottoms” are being very stereotypical becoming very submissive and giving in to their mates leaving behind their dreams n just following the “tops”. Gui is always seen as cooking for Solo’s friends n taking care of the ever falling sleeping Solo! N Kao is now fetching drinks because Phu orders him to during a business meeting!
So I can see why the others r finding problems and telling the others or rather warning them. I couldn’t see the problem when I read first book but after second book n started seeing the same pattern it suddenly struck me. It’s sad how they normalized this behavior of “bottom” that I never realized. I wish someone had warned me before I started reading so I could beware of all the problems. N not just dumb read!
