Hello! Song of Glory is a treasure. I can't remember any good costume dramas since Joy of Life. I watched two other dramas, but they were mediocre. I dropped Ancient Oath of the Gods midway.

Yes, to all of the above! I started the drama last Tuesday, and marathoned 18 episodes in five days. I had to double check the Viki subbing percentage when I noticed the characters were talking, but there was no sub. The progression of the friendship between "Fourth Brother" and 'Heroine' is refreshing. I can't wait for the moment they finally meet on the wedding day.

I mentioned on a blog that Li Qin might be the most diverse female actor in China. she steps outside the box with every acting job. She was as demented as Lu Yuan in Princess Agents.

Lu Yuan looks perpetually irritated/scowling. The only change was at his father's confession in the palace, and the pagan funeral. I wish that he and Shen LeQing would marry each other.

Her best scene was when she told Nephew Lu Yuan that she will drink wine with him after he is free,

i am at episode 8, and I can't wait for the wedding reveal.

I watched eight episodes in three days, and so far, it's very good. The characters/actors are charismatic, except for Mother Queen, Lu Yuan and Shen Leqing.

Didn't he write the Tomb books? Someone wanted to tag his name onto the dramas, I guess.

I thought the same thing, while watching Love and Destiny.

He was the Asian James Bond in Longest Day in Chang An.

Lei Jia Yin played Zhang iao Jing as super spy James Bond in Last day in Chang An. I was awed by all his action scenes.

LOL If I had a grandson, I would want him to be Leo Wu. He is an amazing young actor.

Same here! I am not interested in a season 2 or 3. If they can't end it in episode 48, that's the end of the line for me. 48 episodes is way too long to tell a story, especially if there is drag and filler. Some of the scenes with the King and Mother, Hong Xuan's Wife and Female Spirit, General Ming's Wife and anyone, Female who likes Hong Shuo, Female Spirit and anyone, are boring.

I agree with you. When they drag out the episodes, I start losing the thread of the story. The jumbled editing of scenes is not helping either. I haven't even memorized the names of characters, except for Hong Xuan, Hong Yi, Hong Shuo and Ming Yefeng.

I agree with you. Ming should be listed as main role. He brightens the episodes. Who is Bai Li Hao He? Hong Xuan seems bland.

My handsome grandson, Leo Wu, has grown up. Only five years ago, he was the teenage martials arts expert Fei Liu in Nirvana in Fire, where he stole the show from the experienced actors in all age ranges. Now he has a commanding presence as the male lead in dramas. His role as Bai Li Hong Shuo in Guardians of the Ancient Oath shows an acting maturity and presence which surpass many male lead actors' in their 20s.

Zheng Kai is outstanding among the Guardians of the Ancient Oath cast, due to his handsome looks and majority (age 33). He looks like a young Andy Lau. He has been cast recently in many supporting roles, but I hope that casting agents and production companies make note of his acting presence in Guardians of the Ancient Oath, and upgrade him into the Male Lead category.

My two most favorite characters are Bai Li Hong Shuo and Ming Ye Feng. Zheng Kai is outstanding among the cast, due to his handsome looks and majority (age 33). He looks like a young Andy Lau in his Ming Ye Feng character. I am continually impressed with Leo Wu as an actor. At age 20, he possesses a maturity in acting and presence which surpasses many male lead actors' in their 20s.
