Lu Ling Feng and Du Yu might be the two best looking male characters. I wish Du Yu was a good guy, but playing a villain shows Lu Hong's diverse acting skills.

I watched MLC three or four times. Yun Biqui stood out because of his handsomeness. I knew I had seen Du Yu somewhere, but didn't connect the dots until I checked the castlist.

Some of the cases seemed too long. I ran some of the episodes on 2X. I don't know if each case was three episodes or more. When I pick up the drama the next day, I don't know where I left off, the day before.

Du Yu's face was very familiar. I finally checked the castlist. He was memorable in Mysterious Lotus Casebook. He is one of the cute faces in STOTDS3. I suspected there was more to Du Yu than his official Sheriff job title. I was surprised when he turned out to be a serial killer with his brother-in-law, Wei Tao, who irritated me from the start. I feel sad for Lu, who respected the two men, to the end. They had their reasons for killing the nine merchants. If they had arrested He, he might have been released by Emperor. He was another good looking character who seemed duplicitous.

Anson Shi's face looked familiar. He was Young Ye Hua in Eternal Love.

LOL! CGI beauty makeup! You made me laugh for the first time today. Imagine if it was a real product. We would make trillions of dollars in sales, globally.

Lu Ling Feng looks as old as Mother Li Tai Ping (...Grand Empress). Yang Xu Wen is 32, and Yue Li Na is 51. Yue Li Na must be using special ageless makeup. She looks 35 at best. She even looks younger than Emperor.

Zhou Jun Chao is a very talented actor. His acting in Strange Tales f Tang Dynasty Season 1 and Season 3 is very good. He outacted the actors in Season 1.

I was not paying attention when Su Ming confronted Birdman about his face mask. Was he saying that the face belonged to one of the Triplets? I watched the episode where Su Ming and Lu released Birdman and his bird friend. He looked short and small in frame.

I am surprised Zhou Jun Chao did not do any dramas in 2023 and 2024 . He should be given more acting jobs.

Thanks. I recognized the actor as the deranged triplets, but I could not remember which drama it was. He had the widest acting range in Season 1. He outacted everyone.

I have watched the first four episodes. The plot and the characters are intriguing, except for Grand Princess, who irritates me. She looks young, in her twenties.I can't believe that Yue Li Na is fifty-one years old. The Emperor is quirky looking. They must have cast him on purpose. I don't recall a drama emperor looking like him. His profile photo makes him look good looking.

I love the two male leads and their female companions. I enjoyed Season 1. I skipped Season 2, but I will have to watch it after I finish Season 3.

I am trying to figure out who is the actor playing Birdman? Is he, Zhou Lu La
{Golden Peaches of Kangguo} Wu Wen Bin (Ep. 3-5)? Birdman looks very creepy. and ghoulish. He's actually outacting everyone, as of episode 4.

Final comment:

Amazing to watch an entire C-drama in eleven days. Of course, if they had released two episodes daily, we would have watched the drama in less time. The momentum stretched out with only one episode daily.

The ending was lowkey, unromantic, matter-of-fact. I was surprised that Yu Yu and Gu Ye Jia knew how to kiss. They seemed shy and reserved. The ending suited their personalities and temperament. LOL That might been the longest conversation they had. I was bothered why Ye Jia always had her hair pinned up in the same hairstyle in every scene. I smiled when she let her hair down. She looked younger.

Yu Yu's alcove had too many plants. It made the room dark and small. How did the plants thrive in the dark room? He really should be living in a house with a garden, not an apartment. In the future, he will build his dream house for Yu Jia and him, and he will have a bountiful garden.

Xia Xiao Man crushing on Yu Yu was too long. I can see the attraction to Yu Yu, who is a very handsome older man. His random acts of kindness were predictable, but might be misconstrued by the recipient. The final episode could have been laid out better. The BBQ kiss plot was cute, but he chickened out, and left Ye Jia cold. That is not typical behavior, even if they were not on a romantic dinner date. He could have returned to the table, and made up some excuse, not to kiss Ye Jia. The landing outside his apartment must be for his private use, to put all the raw meats and foods on the table. I wouldn't eat that meat, btw.

Final rating: 7.5

I am sorry Dao moved to Beijing. He should have moved in with Yu Yu while Xia went to Beijing for training. She didn't have to relocate to Beijing.

The production crew is not listed on the MDL list. The writers were very clever with Yu Yu's dialog.

EP 15: I was surprised to see Xia Xiao Man strolling through the park at night without a care. She wasn't even walking Dao. By coincidence, Yu Yu was in the vicinity to rescue her. The ex-boyfriend looked a lot older than Xia. I loved the scene with Yu Yu and Dao. Yu Yu was talking directly to Dao. They have bonded as buddies. I can't wait for the final episode.

Me, too! He looked as old as Yu Yu. The director might have hired the actor as a favor.

January 2, 2026! That's so far away, and yet so near. LOL He was great in Devil Judge. I wish this was the sequel, but it's still the same theme.

His personality was tepid, like warm tea. The scene where he was planning to serve thirty plus cups of tea to Gu was so in character. She would have been running to the restroom every ten minutes.

I wasn't impressed with New Guy Mr Tea. The director should have hired someone better looking, even if it was for a few scenes only.
