Ep 38 and it's official; this show should be called 'the petty emperor and his personal vendetta against everybody' seriously. smh. Like he's one of the most unhinged and volatile emperor character in a drama that i've ever watched so far, casually ruining life left and right just cause he feels like it, and all the while somehow people around him stay loyal to him (especially the ML)? Ngl i would throw a coup too if i was his son lol
4 episodes in and i'm worried whether this would be another 'romance in the farm' situation where the family is going to be extremely selfish and frustrating. So far, the drama itself is quite impressive, because i came with zero expectations and it delivers way more. I hope this will be a good balance between the struggle and the progress because I can not imagine having to sit through 36 more episodes of unsupportive family shenanigans.
in the novel, he has a past relationship with the FL (before she lost her memories) and unable to move on, but he ended up marrying another woman and also has several concubines (one of which is antagonistic towards the FL)
I think someone posted a yt link down below, and there is also one posted on gdrive; if you just scroll down a bit there will be several links and they're all still active :)
i’m currently reading the novel, i’m barely halfway through the story and it has already happened so much!!!!…
me too! i just finished reading it and i have to say now i really can't wait for it to air! the FL is fantastic, and while the ML is a bit of an ass, well, his attitude is not uncommon for the era/setting i guess. overall i think if they adapt it well it will be a really fun story!
I was really surprised when I stumbled upon this randomly on yt. Caesar wu on a vertical short drama? Wha-- how? But I have to say this one definitely looks better than other dramas with similar format. Story wise too, not bad.
Chinese dramas always have this thing where they did not quite know how to end a story, and then proceeds to add the most random things hoping for a last minute 'wth was that?' moment XD
Is it just me or was the last few episodes editing feels very choppy? Especially the start of the episodes always took me aback, like, wait a minute did I miss a whole episode? How did we get here? Has it always been like this since ep 1? I binged the first 12 episodes so I might have missed something lol
The ML also rejected her because of the fake cutesy personality she give off which I don’t blame him. I like…
To be fair, technically, she acted that way because the ML gave her pointers. Her fault really was just that she's that naive to take advice from strangers in the internet. And while i do agree with the message that 'you should be yourself, people will like you even if you're being your honest self'; what I don't condone is the way that he acted so mean and disgusted with her like she did not even deserve basic courtesy. That's just not cool, man. She's probably partly angry at herself for acting like a fool, and then decided to love herself and stop being infatuated with men who wouldn't appreciate her. And then when she knew that he lied to her about his identity of course she's going to be angry again. The fact that he has liked her for years did not matter cause all she knew was that she's being played! Twice! So yeah. He totally deserves the cold shoulder. Besides, it's not like she's lacking with the choices, other boys are literally lining up for her, so... But, don't get me wrong, of course I'm all for them getting together at the end. I'm just saying, all in due time :D
In contrast to everyone wishing them to start officially dating soon; i think he totally deserves the wait. Maybe i'm just petty lol. But dude, just because you didn't like the girl (just because some dumb preconceived image of her which isn't even true) you didn't have to be so mean. It's only logical for her to question his motives after all of that. But anyway, i have to admit they're cute together. As per usual cdramas schedule, they would usually got together by 2/3 of the entire length of the show, so, probably at ep 16 then XD
Watched the 1st ep and I'm already hooked, which is rare nowadays. Now i just have to sit back and wait so i can binge watch when it's finished. Well, at least the wait won't be too long since this only has 12 episodes. Hope it stays great until the end.
