Yeah, bromance is the kind of thing they do in China because of censorship involving homosexuality so when I see Thai BL go that route I'm like "wait a minute, the pioneers are sailing back home!" In other words I feel like its a step backwards from the openness they have shown in many other Thai BL. Exactly, directors that are only interested in numbers and too cowardly to be more expressive.

Totally agree! And the series has me invested completely! I love it! I love the casting choices after watching the series up to this point, haha yes Mild turned out to be better than I expected playing No. Mew is amazing and Gulf has totally won me over! :D

I'm sick of the BL depicting gays as cute fragile objects to be treated with kids-gloves when in fact gays are very sexual by-and-large. Watch homophobic heteronormative Chinese "BL" then if you hate seeing icky gay people show intimacy. Oh and how would I know? Well I dunno, maybe because I'm GAY! You could always live in a nunnery if you cannot handle human sexuality puritan. Seriously, I wonder if you'd complain if this was a straight couple. No one is telling you how to think, we are countering your prudish BS. This isn't a story about asexuals, you are grasping at straws. I'm sick of people trying to de-sex gay romance and treat us gays like we should be more reserved. Don't wanna offend the homophobes!

I could sit here all day listing them, a quick search for straight Asian dramas with skinship/kissing scenes reveals that. Thai people aren't prudes and yet you make it sound like they are. The only prudes are the homophobic network executive corporate money barons who only care about the bottom line and keeping people in a Victorian, puritanical societal mindset because they don't like the most NATURAL thing in human life - love and displays of affection. Romance is a mature genre, it was created for adults by adults. If their hands are tied about "how much gayness" they can show, then this network isn't nearly as pro-gay as I thought it was. I don't know about you, but I'm not satisfied with the double standards placed on same-sex romance. Fact is that if this was a straight drama they wouldn't be so damn coy unless it was a drama written for high schoolers. Tay is 28, New is 27 I think and this franchise had a far more mature theme in KMA. I'm going to look up GMMTV policy because I've seen sex scenes, kissing and even RAPE depicted on their shows. Oh and violence, but violence is okay while romantic love is a no no, especially that icky gay shit. It's a double-standard and society already treats gay people (by and large) lesser and instead of depicting us like the sexual beings we humans all are, they decided to go the China route and barely even mention it and only tease it. Its a step backwards for gays and bis.

Lol yeah I just feel disappointed. Do I still enjoy watching Tay and New in DBK of course! I love those guys to pieces but whats worse is I know they can sell us an AWESOME kiss scene and we might not get that with DBK. To hear that there might only be one (or none) kiss scenes in the entire series is a stepback from KMA imo. I waited for this after first hearing about it a long while back and now it seems that instead of the semi-mature romance that I had before with KMA I get this kid-gloves cliche no-gay drama. This is why I probably will no longer watch established couple sequels anymore, they are always devoid (with some exceptions) of intimacy. I watch ROMANCE for the ROMANCE.

I'm gonna rant so bear with me. This kinda feels like a heteronormative Chinese-censored series compares to KMA. So I read ahead... and my gay heart aches, I waited a year for this! Thanks dipshit director. Straight people always get their straight kisses in their straight romances, but us people in same-sex relationships NOPE! Nope nope no one wants to see icky gay kissing. So I and others want kiss/cuddling scenes, then someone says, "what you want is porn" fuck those people! That is so damn homophobic to assume a gay/bi kiss = porn. Again what about straight romance? If it weren't for the fact that this was TayNew I'd be out by now. Fucking hate being a minority, even the entertainment that's supposed to appeal to me feels like it had to "toe the line" with the gayness. There's my rant, I wouldn't be so damn angry if people were more understanding of WHY its important to have kiss scenes LIKE EVERY HETEROMANCE HAS! Still the actors are awesome and they are doing great with what they got. The director lives in a cold shower in a studio of ice.

Oh please with that right-wing buzzword of "triggered". Hey, yeah gay guy here. Queer as Folk bored me and I like this series. You don't speak for ALL gays. Seriously, you attack an entire group of people like fujoshis who just happen to like gay romance. You might say "fetishization!" Then I'd say "Kink shaming!" You don't like the series then fine, why attack those who do?

Ok I didn't expect that lol! Even seeing the previews from last week that took me by surprise in a VERY good way! Mew and Gulf were using a little bit of tongue!!! Great actors, awesome characters! One thing I've noticed about the LBC universe is that the relationships develop earlier on in the series then most BL and I love it! No dragging it out to the last episodes! We get to enjoy their happiness even more!!! Mew and Gulf truly bring their characters to life and are so good together as an acting team! TharnType is quickly becoming one of my favorite series!

Lol of course there are exceptions haha! OMG I just watched the Effect recently. I was impressed how they took the issue of rape VERY seriously, but I cannot watch it again because it was so disturbing. I only watched it because it has Yacht in it. OMG I freaking loved his character Bright and the other friend Pramote! If you ever watch it you'll know what I mean, they are the absolute best friends anyone could have! Still won't watch it again though, too disturbing for my taste.

Hmmm, in Theory of Love (which I also liked very much OFFGUN!!!!!) lol anyways in TOL there is FAR more tension and drama between the so-to-be lovers and in He's Coming To Me most of the drama is external to the so-to-be lovers. Perhaps there not being drama between the lovers perhaps makes it less interesting to you? I'm only assuming.

Well I finally watched it and it really, REALLY bothered me but I wasn't offended. I think they handled the rape with seriousness and didn't romanticize it at all. It was violent, it was hard to watch, and the damage done mentally/emotionally was FAR WORSE than the physical damage which in itself was substantial. This is one of those "one and done" things for me. I think it was VERY well made, tells an important story but man its so depressing. The BEST part about this was Yacht(Bright) and the other friend, Pramote. They were the life of the show and the best freaking friends in the whole damn universe! I love Yacht and his character was so awesome in this! Both those guys were amazing characters and I was so happy at the end for them! I honestly decided to watch this simply because I like Yacht, and his character did not disappoint at all! Loved him the entire time!

I have a LOT of the same feelings as you, I LOVE the LBC universe! That show was so amazing in many ways, TinCan made me giggle and swoon then broke my heart! AePete were perfect, even when they had minor arguments they got over them quick and without too much drama which some might see as boring whereas I thought it was a breath of fresh air! OOOOO and I hope its true that Saint and Mean will make guest appearances in this series! I assume they'd be playing their characters from LBC, Pete and Tin respectively. Trapped was AMAZING! Anyways Mew and Gulf are so good together as actors! I've been a Mew fan for a few years, Gulf is a new one for me but I'm already a fan! I might be wrong but I think this is Mew's first BL as a main lead! :D I was a little upset at first when I found out Earth wouldn't be playing as Type, but Gulf does such an awesome job and I was so pleasantly surprised that I'm totally invested in this series now :) Whoever thought I'd like a homophobic character like Type so much!! (Maybe cuz I know he's not actually a homophobe, or at least stops being one eventually) LOL I also like seeing hate be conquered by love :D

This is why I like the LBC universe. They have characters that say "I'm GAY" -- no gay erasure! Love has no gender works more for bisexuals (which MOST BL characters are) and pansexuals. But most of the time BL characters don't SAY they are bisexual, bisexual erasure. Sexuality is important but some people like to pretend it doesn't exist. Thankfully, most humans don't. I like labels, I like tags, I like names, I like identities. I just don't judge people by them. labels aren't bad, its the people who use them to harm others who are. This is my biggest pet peeve with BL, sexualities being disregarded when in fact they are a reality of life and important for us gay/bi/pan people who like representation in film and TV, like straight people get ALL THE TIME. This is probably because most BL isn't written by gay people and gay people aren't the target audience even though homosexual attraction tends to be its primary theme.
