I have been living in the UK as a foreigner for a decade, and I can tell you it is a very accepting and receptive country. I have never encountered any incidents ever since I have been here. There are racists and xenophobes, of course, just like everywhere, but it is a happily multicultural society in general.

Am I the only one thinking Mai is probably not Tol's girlfirend, but someone else for him, despite holding hands and common pictures on Facebook? They behave oddly next to each other, they do not seem to be intimate. And there is a mysterious guy behind the story who has some sort of connection to Mai.

"Because deep in my heart I know that if I'd meet the two of you, I'd be reluctant to leave".

I hope he refers to returning to his parents and it is not foreshadowing something like terminal illness.

I think it is time to adandon this comment section for a while till the spoiled brats stop raging.

The tone and even the narrative is happy and uplifting. Don't believe those who say it is depressing.

This ending is not sad at all. Not the way we expected, but definitely uplifting.

I wish there were more grown ups like you around. Hats off.

I have formed my opinion long ago and I stand by it. I am a western viewer too btw. Huge respect for the exceptions, but that is what I see here every time a complex, symbolic story starts airing where hidden meanings, character developments, motivations should be figured out and analyzed by the audience. I does not even have to be fantasy series. 8 out of 10 fail to understand the narrative.

Western BL fans are generally clueless and baffled when Asian dramas use symbolism. They can only handle simple and straightforward stories and scripts which spoonfeed the audience. This show was about a lot more than just a romance, but they scarcely cared.

And I am just as much allowed to call out immature tantrums when I see them.

I am not too happy with the ending either, but some of these tantrums here are extremely immature and shallow.

And now I completely understand the Little Prince reference. Just like the way Little Prince being bitten by the snake was a death by facade only, so is Tofu's death. Tofu did not die. This was a way for him to return to his original form as Teddy Bear just as the Little Prince returned to his planet.

Those were just guessings and suppositions from the fans. No one from the cast and crew made such statements.

Tofu probably has always loved Nut as his owner whom he needs to cherish. And Nut had to fall for him to experience happiness and coming put of his tragic past.

No one said that.

I have not watched it with subs but it seems more like a bittersweet ending than a heartbreaking one.

As usual, a substantial amount of users go berserk, lose their mind and talk bullshit. I am pissed at the ending as well, but this does not change the arresting qualities, thought-provoking messages and heart-wrenching story we were told.

The miracle was that his Teddy bear came into a human being and fixed Nut's life.

He was constantly calling the bear Tofu, so I guess, yeah.

It seems I need to prepare something fluffy for myself tonigh to watch straight after this.
