To a lot of people who are finding the enforced separation and the lack of communication implausible: coming from…
Exemplary, insightful and comprehensive contribution to the debate. Kudos to you, we are very grateful you shared this with us. People here and there commenting about BL very ofen forget and neglect we cannot claim Western values from these shows in all departments.
A neat-looking, well-played and intriguing little series with plenty of style as well as substance. The story is not exactly realistic but engaging. The ending is a bit rushed and abrubt, and just like most of the recent Korean BL series leaves some loose ends behind. The whereabouts of the mum - most likely she is dead - could have been better revealed or elaborated, for instance. But I loved it, needless to say.
The plot still has more implausible aspects than lucid ones, but at least some of the aspects now seem to make more sense. I am the one who quite rigidly said from the beginning that disapproving parent trope is very untypical of this writer and I kept sticking myself to that. After episode 3, I started wavering and I thought I was wrong. But after all, I still don't know if that is the case here. Shu Yi's father is not a bad person and although he might have had difficulties to accept his son's choice, I guess he was willing to do so. The reason he came up with this 5 year plan to try to cut them off was more likely to be caused by both him and Shu Yi thinking Shi De betrayed his son. That conversation in the gallery happens after Shu Yi was heartbroken. He shows Shu Yi's previous phone to Shi De, which Shu Yi broke when he was weeping in the bar. The conversation between him and Shi De in the bar confirms that too. Shu Yi's father seems to be pissed at Shi De because he thinks he was just playing around with his son.
Almost as incredible as those who prefer their characters to be recycled out of 80s manga......if we're opening…
I happen to come across your repeated and immature flouncing, usually at the start of something, so I do not wish to have a convo with you. Child is your grocery mate btw.

Sweeping generalizations are done by those flouncing out of shows in the second they stop giving one-dimensional, perfect cardboard creatures. Thanks for repeatedly proving my point.
The number of immature petulant children on on mydramalist who cannot enjoy a show with flawed characters and make tantrum whenever protagonists are not as saintly and wishy-washy as Snow White is incredible.
It is not a weird trope, and History as well as any other shows do not need to follow your instructions. If you don't like it you know here the switch button is. Periodt.
I have the same relation with this show as with Brothers. They are objectively not very good but both keep one watching and invested in their characters, and both have undeniable charm despite their shortcomings.
You are vastly over-estimating yourself if you think you can hurt me. It was a slight guidance but if you enjoy so much being a butthurt and whiney moppet in 0-24 just carry on. More and more of us should use the scroll button a bit more frequently, but we will get accustomed. Enoy.
How do we know those jerks are from mainland China? Not arguing, I am genuinely curious.
Thanks for the info. They should go back to their government and demand to lift BL ban as well as forget to ever invade the country where this show is airing - if they are so high on estrogen.
