What kind of intimacy are people expecting? I’m asking because its unclear to me. I mean, the drama itself sets…
Of course everyones expectations were different. However there was still some hope for bedscenes and overall hot scenes to some. With recent developments that has become extremely unlikely so I made this post. Anyway this is mostly a reference to a discussion that happened 16 days ago in this comment section, some longtime users will get why I specifically mentioned it.
As for being more disappointed I don't think that's the case. There are always some people who get disappointed at Thai BLs when they don't do a lot of physical scenes too (like the original 2gether). I just don't want people to give bad ratings based on lack of physical intimacy since I think the story, characters and chemistry carries this show. I guess I just care about this show a lot. Of course everyone can decide that for themselves but I'd love to make people reconsider potentially bad ratings based on that.
I'm actually starting to doubt we'll get to see them go to first name basis. It'd be cool though if it does happen…
I trust Rokkaku enough but not sure about Urabe since he is a bit older and newer generations tend to be more openminded in Japan. Also yeah nice pun XD Lets see what happens ^^
I'm actually starting to doubt we'll get to see them go to first name basis. It'd be cool though if it does happen…
Comment referencing ep 11 spoilers. Also about current issues gay employees face in Japanese companies regarding their identity. For those who want to avoid spoilers but are still interested I'll link the news article I used here: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2020/11/29/national/man-reaches-settlement-tokyo-company-boss-outed-gay/ Its really unfortunate that this is still current Japan, news article is only about a week old. Its good to be aware of the situation though as it can also give perspective about why these BL dramas are so important.
Normalizing gay relationships is an important step for Japanese media. While small steps are being made, its still a long way to go. I hope this increases awareness but also makes people appreciate CM for what its doing. Yes its a fantasy story but you can see them as a normal loving couple. That's a beautiful accomplishment by the drama. CM isn't the first Japanese drama to do this of course but its just another step in the right direction.
Predictions and some spoilers for Episodes 10, 11, 12 and the Special Episode:Episode 10: Kurodachi date at the…
I'm actually starting to doubt we'll get to see them go to first name basis. It'd be cool though if it does happen but with all the drama beforehand (ep 11) I'm just not sure.
They feel pretty comfortable with the second names and of course they can't use first names in office if they're keeping their relationship secret so they may just keep to second names for consistency and convenience.
Also I don't think they'll reveal their relationship publically in the company. It wouldn't reflect the realistic struggle of current gay Japanese employees that actively have to avoid getting outed. If they do make light of being out in the company (and likely accepted since they're at last episode) it would make the drama more fluffy and sweet... However it wouldn't reflect real struggles Japanese gay employees face.
I mean yeah if they go public and get accepted its great but it'd make me suspect that the drama creators aren't willing to be considerate to actual struggles of gay employees in Japan and just prioritise the fluffy fantasy story. Just my thoughts though. I know Kurosawa doesn't seem to care about being out but in real life it would definitely affect their life if they were outed in a Japanese company.
how do yall even get these spoilers already? episode 10 hasn't even breathed yet T^T
I personally just combine knowledge of preview ep 10 footage, promo pictures and the spoilers we got from that Japanese episode synopsis. But yeah I guess we just like to figure things out early in this comment section XD
I loved reading your thoughts here. You put everything so clearly so it's easy to follow and understand and I…
The way you describe their small love moments is very nice to read ^^ I hope people can appreciate that type of intimacy as well when this drama is at its end. Yes CM is not gonna be a top show for physical intimacy but it shouldn't have to be. I do understand complaints but I also hope more people will see how the smaller things can have a beautiful meaning in a wellwritten drama.
I completely agree on your point with the intimacy as you might already know... I am really looking forward to…
Nice post! Absolutely agree with your points. I don't know the source the Twitter account used either (besides the Japanese magazine with episode synopsis). I'm just expecting them to be correct about at least the majority of claims.
Not sure if you've been answered yet. Angst is like that feeling of fear and anxiety. In this context its fear and anxiety regarding a relationship. For example if a character likes another character but can't admit it. That's when you see angst, it's kind of a state of suffering.
Well, since we know a lot more now I think I can craft a newest theory. -So what do we know as facts from the spoilers and info we gathered so far?
Ep 10: Episode 10 will be a date ending in confusion for Adachi about Kurosawas thoughts. Also episode 10 will have Kurosawa taking cute pictures of Adachi again, them eating together in restaurant and a scene with eating a crepe with cream. I wonder if this crepe eating was the scene that Akaso meant when he said there were 2 scenes he found embarrassing in an interview. The other being the wink of ep 9. This episode 10 has been rumored to have a kiss but this remains to be seen. So Adachi works on the design competition, gets a bit stressed and eventually goes to an amusement park on a date. Kurosawa will find out about the magic fairly soon (still a bit uncertain about when exactly but its after the date in any case).
Ep 11: So now Kurosawa knows about the mindreading. For episode 11 Adachi and Kurosawa will distance and Adachi will reconsider their relationship. The fluffy white jacket will also show up on Adachi for the first time. Tsuge will come to the rescue and explain Kurosawas thoughts that Adachi couldn't understand. Likely using the words Adachi himself used to encourage Tsuge in episode 8.
Then Adachi will resolve to understand Kurosawa instead of just reading his mind. He goes back to Kurosawa (could be the bike scene of ep 1). At this point an incident will occur. Likely this is the cliffhanger for episode 12.
Furthermore there are rumors of Adachi being promoted at work, gaining more self confidence and all that. Kurosawa proposing something to Adachi too. I would hope marriage XD but I think its just them two repairing their relationship through communication.
-What are the theories? 1. Ending song So we can basically rule out the ending song (Good love your love) being after the date of ep 10 now. As the fluffy white jacket only shows up in ep 11 promo pics and by the time ep 11 rolls around their date should be over.
2. Bike Scene Bike scene of episode 1 is highly likely either at the end of ep 11 or in episode 12. It could be the moment after Tsuge explains to Adachi how Kurosawa feels but it could also be something even later since there is 1 more incident (very worrying) that will happen.
3. Ending song clothes Last time I had my tie theory in which I explained that the coloured ties Kurosawa and Adachi wear in the ending song correspond with the ties they had when they each individually confessed their love. So now that the ending song is not related to the ep 10 date I wondered if the clothes they wore meant something again.
Like Kurosawa wears his date clothes from ep 11 while Adachi wears the clothes when he goes back to Kurosawa on bike in ep 1 (after their little relationship issue). It might be that these clothes indicate another big moment in their relationship. Another relationship/emotional step that Kurosawa makes during the date which Adachi only catches up to when he returns to Kurosawa with the bike scene. Just a theory though.
-My take on the lack of intimacy With the confirmation of ep 11 being an angst/sad episode there is very little time left for any intimacy. That leaves me to my last point.
Many frequent users here know that I am pretty passive about a lot of topics. I do however always engage when lack of intimacy is mentioned. I'll explain why. It's because I am afraid that this show will be judged harshly because of that. I don't want to be the person that always mentions ''It's a Japanese BL so please have different expectations'' but I feel like I have to be. Yes this show will end with VERY little physical intimacy as things are looking right now. Its gonna be another JBL that has a kiss as the maximum level.
Don't get me wrong I love discussing about the show and yeah intimacy is a great way to show relationships I absolutely agree. Its just that I always knew things would end with very little intimacy (cause, its JBL) so whenever it was brought up I felt I had to immediately bring others to expect lower levels of intimacy. Because to me it doesn't matter but to others it clearly will and I understand that now a bit better. If it did ever come off as too harsh then I apologise cause it became an automatic response at some point.
I hope those who wanted physical intimacy will still tolerate the drama as it is. While I tried to prepare everyone I know this will still influence the opinions of some on this drama. I'm sorry things didn't end up that well for those who wanted more intimacy but I hope you will still enjoy the story! Who knows mayby a movie or even the final scenes of the series will show a bit more.
it's from ep11right? I can't thinking it could be from last one episode. . oh.. i am worry but same time no worry…
Basically ep 11 is sad episode confirmed. Also we FINALLY get the sheepwool jacket from Adachi (ep 1 bike scene) in episode 11. Likely meaning that the bike scene is ep 12/end of ep 11.
Please don't advertise a site unless you are a fansubber yourself. Because I am just gonna assume that if you do host episodes they are ripped from others. Don't know why I bother replying to a spam bot but I don't want others to be misled.
