This movie can easily be summarised. -When you hate IT so much that you get yourself a guy to do it for you.- Still though, there is barely any love development visible besides mild awkwardness and dumb misunderstandings which is a shame. I just skipped through large parts of the story and don't feel like I missed anything important so do that I guess. You won't get to see ANY cute moments until the last part of the movie so just a heads up. Sure it's a first time lovestory but it's not really a romantic one. And yea the actors didn't have chemistry which makes me suspect that they didn't properly prepare the male actors/they didn't want to get prepared for touching/kissing. I suppose we have higher standards nowadays for actors.
Really interesting take on the line between acting and real feelings. We often hear about actors/actresses who start to date after acting as love-interests in a movie. This movie basically allows you to watch such a thing develop but with an added layer since both actors are seemingly straight at the beginning of the movie. So where does the role end and the real person begin?
This is probably the best BL (and one of the only) to come out of Korea so if you've seen this (at the time of writing this) you've seen it all. Edit: I just found out the studio produced more series (look in the recommendations). So I'm assuming those will be good too.
If you liked ''the Untamed'' you will like this one but keep in mind that it is definitely not the same quality. Guardian is not as good and I think that's mostly because of the censorship which seems to have hit this series harder than with the Untamed. The intro-song is nice but the CGI is definitely not good. There is definitely chemistry between the two leads but they should allow that to shine more.
