First episode with English subs got leaked apparently so I don't think the fansubber will openly share it anymore for future episodes. So that's a bit of a complex situation. I think a lot of people don't realize how fansubbing exists. It's a delicate balance of the fansubber entrusting their work not to be reuploaded on random places by the viewers. Because if you know Japan, their copyright strikes are fierce and it's not fun to lose control over your own works distribution. So yeah that is gonna be the situation for future episodes.
Anyway with that out of the way: It will be on DramaOtaku from what I read of the fansubber though, but you will have to familiarize yourself a bit with how Japanese drama fansubtitles work. It's like a site that hosts subtitles but you sign up once they open registrations. So that may take a while and be a bit of a struggle for getting approved. I personally have never done it myself so don't ask me for further advice on this specific thing, I just find raw video files if needed.
Alternatively to DO: -Wait till international official stream-site Gaga/Viki/Iqiyi picks it up. -Wait till secondary fansubber picks it up (cause the first one will only share on DO now) -Learn Japanese and download the video file somewhere/Japanese Netflix
If you have the patience, this show will reward you. I hope the BL fandom won't sleep on this show just because it has a bit more side-storylines in it. It's really special just how good this show builds its important relationship moments
I would actually watch a season 3, I think there's still unexplored possibilities. Like what if Shin turns out to be the lost son of a yakuza gang and he has to adjust to that lifestyle? How would Minato cope with that and how long would it take for their love to be stable again from that reveal? This can basically go as deep as they want
Well, at least I guess the original author still gets credit for the story unlike with the plagiarism of Eternal Love (2017) where a gay story was turned straight by a different author who got the cash for it. Some cdrama-lore for those interested.
I'll still try to watch this as I don't really mind if its a BL or not as long as there's chemistry between the characters (I also watch Chinese dramas so yeah) but I do understand the outrage. I think it can be considered a warning that despite KBL having gotten far, there's still a long road to go. It's a big step from webdramas to mainstream Korean tv and clearly we are not there yet. But yeah its disappointing.
So its kinda less an exploration of the fujoshi fandom itself and more just how an outsider (the male lead) deals with his girlfriend who is in that fandom. In like a really exaggerated way. I only saw it subbed in Spanish.
