BL, trust me a jdrama wouldn't have 100+ comments before release if it was a bait show.

From what I remember last year there was:
Oops! The King is in Love, Dr. Cutie, In a Class of Her Own, The Chang'an Youth, The Heiress, Maiden Holmes.
This year there was only: Celestial Authority Academy
But I also feel that difference may be cause the topic was a bit overused in 2020 so it's just less popular this year.

Most people who hate a show just make one comment and leave after that. There may be a few persistent hate-watchers (those who watch shows they dislike to rant for fun) but I'm not too worried for this one.
If there's a lot of negative comments then you can just make postive comments to balance that energy out ^^

It still was popular in China last year. A bunch of titles released that year, I saved them in a custom list. But yeah nothing from Korea in a long while for the genderbend+historical combination.

Didn't watch more than episode 1 cause of lack of subs. I will say, it has the most unique ending theme song you will ever hear for a show. Made it pretty easy to learn the lyrics and pronounciation isn't much of a problem.

If given enough hype the streaming services will pick it up. Kieta Hatsukoi just needs a lot of social media hype to make clear the interest in the show.

Not gonna lie, that opening song is the cutest theme song I've ever heard in a jdrama.

I'm not too worried considering this is a BL but it may take a while. It's just important that the drama generates enough hype.

I read the manwha quite recently. He does develop feelings for her before he finds out she's a girl. There's a lot of angst in the manwha.

''Do you have feelings for me.... Regardless if I am a man or a woman?''
They even kiss before he finds out. A different secondary love interest finds out very early though.

I've seen The Beauty Inside, Snow Lotus and Haeundae Lovers from the director. While they weren't masterworks they always included some fun parts and since the dramas I mentioned are all hidden identity ones (like this one) I will say he can handle the theme just fine. Just going off of the ratings for these dramas doesn't mean a ton if you consider your own personal enjoyment of a drama. I love Haeundae Lovers but its rated a 7.1 since not everyone can get through the first part which drags on a bit. Overall its a fun dramatic story though.

Clean with Passion for now and Revolutionary love are not hidden identity themed shows and so I don't expect them to be similar to this product.

Pretty slim XD I also posted a few gifs of this show on the jdrama discord server. Took about a week for me to finish it. Kimura Takuya really took my heart with this show

I love how fast he went from full identity crisis to just being like oh cool superhero stuff.
Anyway if sensitive to flashing lights avoid this drama at all costs.
